"Oh~" Lan Chu dove headfirst into the bathtub.
"The bath salts Monica gave me are really amazing~" Lan Chu sighed, as if she had forgotten all her troubles.
"It's a pity that I have to go teach that little guy in a while. Oh... I've just gone through a breakup, can I ask for a few days off..." Lan Chu gathered the bubbles in the bathtub together and wailed.
Just then, the phone rang. Lan Chu closed her eyes. A moment later, the answering machine picked up: "Miss Lan, Little Rothe has a fever today, let's postpone today's lesson." It was the nanny from the Rothe family calling.
After hearing this, Lan Chu sank a bit lower, continuing to enjoy the charm of the bath...
After having her fill, Lan Chu finally climbed out of the bathtub, wrapped herself in a bath towel, and grabbed a towel to dry her damp hair. Just as she heard someone open the door and walk in, Lan Chu immediately turned around. It was Joey. Upon opening the door and seeing Lan Chu wrapped in a bath towel, he couldn't help but smile.
"Joey?" Lan Chu sensed the image in his mind.
"Oh, sorry, old habits. I came to find you because I wanted to ask if you could accompany me to an audition?"
"An audition? Me?" Lan Chu asked, puzzled.
"Yeah, the director for this one is Chinese, and you're Chinese too. Maybe if he sees you, he'll feel... a sense of familiarity, and then I'll get hired too!" He said with anticipation.
"Will... he?" Lan Chu asked, confused.
"I think he will!"
"As long as you're happy, but... I don't want to go out today. I just want to stay at home, watch TV, eat ice cream, and then fall asleep..." Lan Chu declined listlessly.
"Don't be like that, Ella Lan. You can't let that James affect you. How about this, Ella Lan, you come with me to the audition first, and after the audition, I'll take you to experience a Joey-style celebration!" As Joey spoke, he struck a ready-for-action pose.
Lan Chu felt helpless, but after seeing Joey's cute expression, she softened.
"Fine, you sit here, I'm going to change."
"I'll help you!"
"Joey! Sit down!"
"Oh~" Joey sat down, disappointed.
Lan Chu opened the closet and took out a blue knitted dress; this was one that Rachel had picked out for her. After changing, she put on some simple, light makeup.
"OK, let's go." Lan Chu grabbed her handbag and walked to the door.
Joey stood up.
"Wow, you look absolutely beautiful. If you go out like this, who knows how many people you'll charm~"
"Oh, Joey, you really are a sweet little angel, provided you aren't afraid of being late for your audition." Lan Chu ruffled Joey's hair.
"Let's go, let's go!"
Joey pushed Lan Chu out the door.
"Wait." Lan Chu remembered something.
"What?"
"I forgot to bring my keys," Lan Chu said.
"Don't worry, let's go first, I can open the door." Joey calmly pulled Lan Chu downstairs.
Lan Chu looked dejected; even the cakes in the dessert shop couldn't bring a smile to her face.
"Ella Lan, don't you think Chandler is acting weird?" Joey tapped his chin with his finger; he had even specially shaved today.
"What's wrong with Chandler?" Lan Chu replied.
"I got a call this morning from a hotel saying that an eyelash curler was left behind in the room Chandler rented."
As soon as Lan Chu heard that, she knew exactly how far things between Chandler and Monica had progressed, but she had been too busy with James lately... so she hadn't noticed that Joey was about to find out.
"Maybe Chandler uses one too..." Lan Chu said.
"Impossible, he doesn't even have eyelashes. Maybe he was seeing some girl..."
Before they knew it, they had arrived at the place where Joey's audition was being held. With Joey's company along the way, Lan Chu felt much better.
"Is this the place?" Lan Chu pointed at a door.
"That's right, that's right. You wait outside for me, I'll be done in a second." Just as Joey was about to open the door, he was pulled back by Lan Chu.
"Joey, didn't you drag me here to make your Chinese interviewer show some leniency?"
"Yeah." Joey answered naively.
"Then if I wait outside, how is he going to see me?"
Joey looked like he had just had an epiphany. Lan Chu rubbed her temples, smiled helplessly, took the briefcase from Joey's hand, and pulled him through the door.
The interviewer inside was a bit surprised to see two people. One of the American women asked: "Uh... we only called for Joey Tribbiani."
"I know, I'm Joey Tribbiani's assistant, in charge of holding his bag. You guys continue, don't mind me." Lan Chu stepped back a few paces.
"That's fine. Anyway, he's auditioning for a love scene, so you can just partner with him. That way we won't have to go down," said the Chinese person.
Joey had a realization; so it could be done like this...
"Alright then, Tribbiani, you may begin, with your friend."
Lan Chu stood there obediently like a student, waiting to see Joey's acting performance.
