Arc 2 chapter 17
The sun was shining brightly and the weather was nice and the winds were smooth and cozy to the point where you might fall a sleep. Ryan was feeling amazing as he sailed through the sea in this ship and the captain was a very positive old man who has a lot of experience in sailing ships, if you ever needed a ride to the sea, then captain Coby is your guy.
Ryan: mann this feels amazing! I wish I could enjoy this with my friends! If I could make Alex the head of the clan then I could. Let me right it down on my star list( starts writing on his book)
Coby: you look like a lively young man.
Ryan: you're captain Coby right? Mann I love your ship and you're sailing style too!
Coby: wow kid thanks I like people like you and the best part is there was someone who looked almost like you not too long ago who sailed on this boat.
Ryan: Really! Did he have someone with him?
Coby: yes I think? It was another boy with white hair and a little bit pale white skin.
Ryan: that must be Sion his servant.
Coby: servant? Nah they looked like good pals and I almost thought they were dating since that guy is very feminine for a boy.
Ryan: they were always close and feminine well that's a common mistake for anyone who doesn't know him. But hey where were they going?
Coby: to that old washed up port village, it's named Markini.
Ryan: really! Can you take me there!
Coby: sorry kid but this ship is going to port Vanheim. But you can still get to Markini if you find a carriage to Markini but there aren't a lot of Marchants and transports that goes there so... It might be tough.
Ryan: I'll get there by foot I'm pretty sure I'm fast enough.
Coby: by foot?! Oh I see you're an adventurer aren't you?
Ryan: nope I'm just Ryan Ember that's all.
Coby: Ember? Oh... Now that makes sense. Hah here I thought I had one person from the Ember clan but two!
Ryan: Wait two?
Coby: yeah that lady over there at the sail(pointing at the top of the sail pole)
Sheeva: took you long enough to notice me.
Ryan: you... Those clothes... You're from the ash branch aren't you!
Sheeva: yes and my name is Sheeva and I'm from the Ash branch as you've said.
Ryan: you're fast! It didn't take you long to find me huh?
Sheeva: I feel like you're mistaken, I'm not here to capture you after that stupid stunt at the estate, but I'm here as a partner.
Ryan: partner? With you from the creepy Ash branch? Not happening!
Sheeva: it's not like I wanna partner up with someone from a flashy Star branch like you, but you don't have a choice in the matter.
Ryan: what do you mean?
Sheeva: Lynn said that you can destroy it from the outside and he'll destroy it from the inside.
Ryan: what does that even mean? And wait... The head sent you?!
Sheeva: yes he did and for the former... That's for you to figure out.
Ryan: I see. Just so you know I don't work with sneeky people like the Ash branch.
Sheeva: to bad, because you're stuck with me for life.
Ryan: WHAT?!
Sheeva: yes, that is my mission from the head. That I shall accompany you until the day I die, which means you're an important piece to the head, so just do what you have to do.
Ryan: I see... I guess I he was always aware of my movements and now he sends a spy to accompany me... Thank you mister Lynn! And I'll bring good results!
Coby: well I feel like I heard something I shouldn't have.
Ryan: what!!! You were still here?!
Sheeva: impossible! I didn't feel you're presence are you more skilled than me in stealth arts?!
Coby: I'm pretty sure it's called bieng absorbed in the conversation.
Ryan and Sheeva: huh?
Coby: it looks like the both of you still need to mature a bit.
Ryan who wants to make Alex retake the succession battle so that he can claim the throne and Sheeva who was sent to accompany Ryan by Lynn, these two now head for the northern continent and now their journey finally begins.
The storm was raging and Alex and his party were heading towards it with determination in their eyes and as they approach the storm...
Alex: hey Rachel there's something I wanna give you.
Rachel: in this situation? What is it?
Alex: here(takes out earrings) I bought these back at Markini at our first date and I kinda never got the chance to give them to you.
Rachel: seriously? Thanks! I'll treasure them! (smiling happily) but why give them now?
Alex: they have a protection spell on them that boosts your defense and I thought just in case something happens to me I leave something behind for you.
Rachel: that's so sweet, but nothing will happen to you okay! Not on our watch.
Alex: thanks I needed that(smile).
After the small exchange, the party made it inside the storm which was infested with super heavy currents that can immediately send a person flying. Albert activated his aura and manipulated it to create a barrier to protect the party from the storm's currents and now they walk deeper into the storm to locate it's core.
Albert: my mana is not infinite so we have to hurry, but the storm is making it difficult.
Sion: wow this mana barrier is cool as hell not gonna lie,it's super strong too.
Alex: a super tough barrier created by an S rank, I can't wait to reach S rank and do stuff like this!
Albert: don't worry about it, with me as your mentor I'll make sure to get you to S rank.
Kali: OK that is cool and all but won't your barrier cancel out if you lose focus? Precise the deeper we go the stronger the currents!
Albert: don't worry about it, the barrier won't cancel if 8 talk or anything but it will only cancel if an outside force specifically acts on it or an attack from someone outside which is very impossible at this situation.
Anos: are you sure about that? (throws a hard flying punch at Albert)
While Albert and the others were having this conversation, the unexpected happened and some how Anos appeared out of nowhere and struck Albert at the face thus making it count as an outside force and Albert's mana barrier canceled at the same time making time stop for a moment as a great disaster is about to happen to the weaker beings in the storm. Alex, Rachel, Sion and Kali got taken by the storm without giving them enough time to scream.
Alex: AIN'T THIS BOUT A BITC—! (getting swapped up)
Rachel: kyaaaa!!
Sion:....!!
Kali: this can't be happening!!!
Albert: No! Guys I'm coming for ya! (getting ready to jump)
Anos: you're going nowhere! [holy bind]
Anos grabbed Albert with a light infused rope and held him down so that he could not go after the others who were taken by the current.
Albert: who the hell are you?!
Anos: the name's Anos, I don't have a last name.
Albert: I see... By any chance are you the guys who slaughtered the Rabbit people?
Anos: mhmm yes, what about it?
Albert: I'm going to fucking kill you with my own two fucking hands!
Anos: what business did you have with the bunnies?
Albert: nothing to tell the truth, but you caused one of us suffering because of that stunt that's all.
Anos: ohh you mean that bunny girl you have with you. To tell the truth... I want her dead quick.
Albert: why's that?
Anos: because once the curse activates killing her will be troublesome.
Albert: curse activates?
Anos: don't you know? Hahaha... Do you know why they call this thing the Cursed Storm?
Albert: not really, all I know is the fact that it comes after every two years.
Anos: that's one of it but not quite... The real reason it's called this is because once you're inside it, you'll get sent into a sub dimension inside the storm! Hahaha isn't it amazing huh?! And once you're inside those dimensions you're forced to fight a powerful monster and you can't get out until you defeat it, but if you lose then it's bye bye world and hello hell!
Albert: What!?
Anos: hahaha but don't worry there's still about three minutes left before the curse activates.
Albert: but we're both inside the storm, won't we get pulled too?
Anos: we will and that was my plan anyways.
Albert: well too bad cuz it's not gonna happen.
Anos: are you not gonna try and save the kids again?
Albert: if it's monsters we're talking about then they're gonna be fine cuz they got a lot of experience with those. You see I picked the forest for a reason when I was training them and they're pretty good at handling monsters, I was not only teaching Alex to control but I was teaching all of them to survive and they went through some hell fighting B rank monsters and since the forest didn't offer any more powerful monsters than B rank we had to get by those.
Anos: impossible! Their aura was way too weak for!... Tsk.
Albert: finally realized it? They were training while having their mana in stealth mode for perfect mana control and because it increases the difficulty of the training, the same goes while we were inside the storm, that's part of the reason why I volunteered to use my aura as a barrier, though I never expected you to show up out of nowhere but anyways they can handle some monsters and three minutes is enough for me to kill a punk ass A rank like you!
Anos:.... I see but you're mistaken, my crew the Sun Spiders are inside the storm as well and once the curse activates they're gonna be teleported along with them and they'll slaughter those brats.
Albert: enough talking then. [quick attack]
Albert went for an attack first after breaking free from the bind with sheer strength and Anos quickly recovered from that shock and managed to block the attack but Albert already predicted that and sent a huge current of lightning to Anos's body with [lightning strike], Anos screamed in pain and tried to break his hand free which was glued to Albert's hand due to electro static, Anos then used [blinding light] to turn his body into light for a second to break free while blinding Albert but he quickly recovered and drew a sword from his staff and used [used swordmanship LV3] to counter but somehow Anos dodged all of them and then kept some distance.
Albert: you're not bad, then I'll use 30% of my power then!
Anos: wait, wait, wait, hold on what percentage were you at?
Albert: about ten.
Anos: what the fuck?! I thought you were way long out of your prime! And you're telling you were going at ten percent just now! You're a monster there's no way I'm continuing this fight!
Albert: then you'll give up on the storm thing you're trying to do?
Anos: in your dreams! I would not stop even if there were a million of you! For now I'll just wait for the curse to activate and I'll start doing my thing. See ya! (deactivated his aura and then got swepped up by the storm's currents)
Albert: hold on! Shit! He got away! It looks like I'll have to wait for this damn curse to activate huh? Well get ready you peace of shit! Cuz which ever sub dimension you end up to, I'll find you and stop this stupid game! I just hope Alex and the others can beat up those Sun Spiders or whatever.
The storm continues to rage through and the level of threats have increased as the Sun Spiders try to take out Alex's party out of the picture and Anos is after Kali's head and the battle of the Cursed Storm begins... But something deep within the storm roars.
