Chapter 12 - sentence 12

Roleplay [Birth of the Sealed Void]

The magic circle dimmed, its glow thinning into drifting sparks before disappearing completely.

Light was gone, no farewell, no final words.

Only the Forty-One remained… standing in the quiet aftermath of a decision that could never be undone.

At the center of the throne room stood Henry.

Not as the Void, not as a being beyond existence.

But as their friend.

And that made what came next far more difficult than any battle they had ever fought.

Momonga step forward "You stand before Ainz Ooal Gown as the one who brought an end to a god."

"Yes."

A ripple of silence spread across the throne room. Ulbert stepped forward, eyes sharp with clarity rather than anger. "Let's remove the illusion first. The God deserved to fall."

No one disagreed.

"He enslaved creation. He erased existence to preserve his authority. He punished defiance as if it were sin."

Runes beneath Henry slowly began to rotate.

"But the death of a god is not an act of rebellion. It is an act that reshapes the structure of reality."

Momonga continued "You freed the world. You ended tyranny. But you shattered inevitability."

The word echoed as Touch Me spoke firmly. "You are not judged for justice—

you are judged for your action."

The silence stretched, heavy and suffocating, until at last—Momonga stepped forward. "…Henry. We have reached a conclusion."

Henry did not answer. He didn't need to. The weight in the room had already said everything.

Ulbert folded his arms tightly across his chest, fire dimmed behind eyes that refused to look away.

Touch Me stood at Momonga's side, one hand resting on the hilt of his sword, his usually unwavering composure shadowed by quiet sorrow.

Behind them—the rest of the Supreme Beings stood in solemn silence.

Forty-one rulers of Nazarick.

Forty-one creators of legends.

Forty-one friends… forced to pass judgment.

"You are too dangerous to remain unsealed… and too important to lose." For a brief moment, Momonga's voice wavered—then steadied, returning to the calm authority they all knew.

"We cannot destroy you. And we will not abandon you." A heavy pause settled over the throne room. "So we will choose the only path left to us."

Ulbert stepped forward next, arms still crossed, gaze sharp but burdened. "If the world ever learns the Void is free, every god, every cosmic nuisance, every power-hungry fool will come knocking." He let out a slow breath.

"And sooner or later… one of them will ask you to end everything." His voice lowered, losing its usual bite. "…And one day, you might say yes."

Henry said nothing. Because Ulbert wasn't wrong.

Touch Me closed his eyes for a moment before he spoke, as if steadying the weight of the words he was about to carry. "We cannot allow the world to bear that risk."

When he opened his eyes, his gaze met Henry's without wavering. "But we also cannot condemn our friend to a prison without end."

Silence rippled through the throne room.

One by one… the Supreme Beings nodded. No objections, no hesitation.

A single, unified decision.

Momonga stepped forward once more. "Henry… by the will of the Forty-One Supreme Beings of Ainz Ooal Gown…"

All voices rose together, merging into one unbreakable decree.

The Forty-One:"We pass this sentence." The air thickened, as if even the throne room itself understood the gravity of what was being decided.

"Your true body will be sealed once more. You will return to slumber… until the Day of the End arrives. When that day comes, you will awaken and fulfill your final duty."

Momonga spoke the final line of the decree, his voice steady despite the weight behind it. "And you will return to the place where the Void truly belongs."

Silence settled over the throne room like a closing curtain.

Then Momonga spoke again—softer this time. "This is not eternal imprisonment. If gods or beings seek your help—and their request is NOT the destruction of the world…"

All Forty-One spoke as one. "You are permitted to awaken and form contracts."

Momonga stepped closer. "Until that day… Henry will remain in Nazarick."

Touch Me smiled faintly. "As one of its leaders."

A massive magic circle formed beneath Henry. Forty-one streams of power poured into it. Guild power, world power.

Friendship turned into chains.

Ulbert whispered "…Sorry, Henry."

Momonga raised his staff. "Seal the True Body of the Void."

The Forty-One:"Contract established."

Reality shattered.

Henry's soul fractured.

One half sank into endless darkness, pulled back toward the sealed depths where the true Void would sleep. The other half remained, held in place by the will of the Forty-One.

Power surged through the throne room as every Supreme Being poured their strength into a single purpose—to forge a vessel.

Something new began to take shape. Not human, not divine.

A radiant triangular entity formed in midair, its surface glowing with impossible light.

At its center, a single blue eye opened.

The installation completed in an instant.

The triangle flickered—collapsed inward—and reshaped itself into a human figure.

Henry stood there once more.

Alive.

Present.

And still their old friend.

The throne room fell silent.

The sentence… had been carried out.

[Behind the scene]

The throne room froze mid-frame. The magic circle halted, light suspended in place like glitter trapped in glass.

The Lead Developer leaned back in his chair and stretched both arms overhead before pressing a key. "…Cut. Okay. That's a wrap." He dropped his hands onto the desk with a soft thud.

A second developer slid their headset down around their neck. "Finally. That sealing sequence nearly killed the effects team."

The Lead Developer spun slowly in his chair, massaging the bridge of his nose. "You have no idea. Battle scenes are easy. If an effect slips during combat, nobody notices."

He gestured at the paused throne room footage on the monitor. "But a stationary scene? One location, fixed camera, constant glow effects? Every single frame has to be perfect or the error becomes obvious."

Another developer leaned back dramatically, arms hanging off the chair. "We spent more time hiding visual errors than creating the magic circle itself."

The Lead Developer stared at the screen for a moment, then nodded slowly. "This season was brutal."

A quiet pause followed.

Developer #2 leaned forward, zooming into Henry's character data floating in the system. "…Still. The new vessel turned out insane. Hard to believe this thing almost didn't get approved."

A new avatar materialized in the developer channel. "I told you the character needed more than one form."

The Lead Developer pointed a finger at the screen without looking away, smirking "You didn't tell us. You fought us tooth and nail for it. You argued for weeks. Meetings, revisions, design documents… You rejected every nerf we proposed."

Henry shrugged lightly. "Because the concept didn't work otherwise."

The Lead Developer scrolling through the final specification sheet. "Multiple forms. Reality manipulation. Causality bending. Time distortion…" His scrolling finger stopped. "…New title: Time Lord."

Developer #3 gave a low whistle. "Yeah. That title fits way too well."

A dark silhouette formed beside Henry's avatar. Ulbert appeared first, arms crossed, grinning like a villain enjoying a perfect finale. "So? How are the viewers reacting?"

He opened a floating screen filled with live comments and metrics. His grin widened. "Look at those numbers. They crying, hating and love the sealing scene." He laughed quietly to himself.

Another presence appeared. Momonga materialized, speaking. "If the audience is satisfied, then the narrative has succeeded."

Ulbert waved dismissively. "Narrative? Forget that. Look at the reaction spikes."

He pointed at the chart enthusiastically. "The moment the vessel appeared—boom. Engagement doubled."

Momonga smiled while looking at his excited friends "Then the effort of everyone involved was worthwhile."
