Chapter 14 - NPC 14

Hello, sorry it took so long for this new chapter. Like the previous one, this chapter only contains information about Henry's new NPC that he mentioned in previous chapter.

I'm also going to start making bigger time skips so we can reach the main storyline much faster. I've realized that we're already at Chapter 14, but the story still hasn't entered the main plot yet.

So from now on, I'll provide more information and move the timeline forward more quickly so we can finally get into the main storyline.

That's all I wanted to say, and thank you for reading. :)

------

Henry has already created Alastor as npc long before Nazarick was taken over.

I intentionally modeled Alastor to be identical to the version seen in the pilot, his personality and appearance lean more toward the pilot version, with one key difference Alastor possesses a fully three-dimensional body to match the game world.

With his personality, lean more toward the pilot version. But when interacting with those close to him, he shifts into the calmer and more composed, because he dosn't have to wear a mask around them.

Henry changed a few Lore details from the original version like, Alastor can wear a mask that creates the illusion of a constant smile, instead of literally never losing his smile.

His backstory was rewritten so that, instead of being a human who die and became a demon, he has always been a demon from the very beginning.

Alastor gained his shadow powers directly from Henry, making them a gift from his creator.

Because Henry created him and rewrote his past, their relationship is essentially that of father and son.

Alastor was actually the first NPC ever created in nazarik, but he was not revealed immediately.

His creation process was extremely complex and took a long time, because autonomous entity technology was still newly developed for the developer, and Alastor became the very first npc of that programing.

For this reason, Henry kept him hidden as a surprise until everything was fully perfected. And so Alastor was only revealed after Nazarick was successfully taken over.

Unlike most NPCs in Nazarick, Alastor was designed to be far more advanced and lifelike. He is highly expressive, capable of displaying a wide range of emotions and reactions instead of following rigid scripted behavior.

His movements, posture, and decision-making closely resemble those of a player character, making interactions with him feel natural and unpredictable in roleplay, and that make the roleplay more fun to watch.

And because the autonomous entity system proved successful with Alastor, it was eventually implemented for all NPCs, allowing them to adopt the program for a far more natural and immersive interaction experience.

The only drawback was the increased cost, as the creation process remained complex and time-consuming.

Alastor lore

Alastor was designed by Henry to serve as Nazarick's temporary Overseer, capable of making independent decisions—both directly and indirectly—whenever it was necessary for the benefit and stability of the Great Tomb.

He was even given the authority to interpret, question, or propose alternatives to the Supreme Beings orders if doing so would lead to a more advantageous outcome for Nazarick.

At the time of his creation, Albedo had not yet been created by her creator, so Alastor temporarily fulfilled the Overseer role to ensure Nazarick would always have a central authority to coordinate its npc, guardians, and the guild operations.

However, this position was never meant to be permanent. From the very beginning, Alastor understood that the Overseer role truly belonged to Albedo.

When Albedo was finally completed, Alastor formally handed the position over to her. Rather than simply stepping aside, he personally trained Albedo in everything she needed to know to become Nazarick's Overseer.

This included administrative duties, inter-guardian coordination, leadership etiquette, and the subtle complexities of managing Nazarick's hierarchy.

In the lore, this moment represents a respectful transition of authority.

Alastor was not replaced, but instead became the one who prepared Albedo to fully assume the role he had been safeguarding until her arrival.

After passing on his responsibilities, Alastor's daily life became more relaxed and flexible.

And even though Alastor is no longer the Overseer, he still holds significant authority. He is free to offer ideas and even challenge the Supreme Beings' decisions if he believes there is a better path that could help Nazarick progress further.

He also began hosting regular radio broadcasts throughout Nazarick from one of the Ninth Floor rooms, transforming communication and new information into entertainment. These broadcasts became both informative and amusing, delivering news, commentary, and occasional theatrical performances that perfectly reflected his dramatic personality.

And since he no longer serves as Overseer, Alastor has taken on the role of an information gatherer. He collects knowledge from enemies and from Nazarick's library, then broadcasts these findings across the entire Tomb.

When he grew bored, Alastor often visits the Treasury of Nazarick to play with Pandora actor. He is able to access it freely because Henry gifted him the Ring of Ainz Ooal Gown shortly after his creation, ensuring he could travel and carry out his duties without restriction.

The ring symbolizes both trust and responsibility, showing that he was intended to move throughout Nazarick as needed. Well, he doesn't really need it since he can travel from place to place using his shadows, the only location he cannot access without the ring is the Treasury.

During his free time, Alastor enjoys socializing and entertaining himself with other residents of Nazarick.

He frequently spends time playing games, conversing, or simply observing and interacting with Pandora's Actor, the Twins, Victim, Cocytus, Demiurge, and Albedo.

These interactions highlight his unusually sociable nature, as he actively seeks engagement rather than remaining idle.

Alastor also dislikes being touched and only allows physical contact from those he considers close to him, same from the show. Alastor's powers and skill set are identical to his counterpart from the show, making him extremely dangerous and versatile.

I make his intelligence and knowledge are comparable to Demiurge, placing him among the most intellectually capable beings in Nazarick. The two share similar interests, analytical thinking, and strategic perspectives, which often leads to engaging discussions and mutual respect between them.

Alastor also shares the same hobbies as in the show, so Henry prepared many musical instruments for him to play. At times, Henry, the npc, or other members of Nazarick even join him in playing music together.

He still enjoys 'hunting' as well, but Henry strictly limits this to enemies only—he is never allowed to hunt the denizens of Nazarick.

-----

One important detail is that Alastor was not created with automatic loyalty toward the members of Ainz Ooal Gown.

Instead, every member—including Henry—must personally interact with him and earn his loyalty over time. The only unwavering loyalty he possesses from the start is toward Nazarick itself.

Henry intentionally designed him this way because it plays an important role in the lore. Henry himself dislikes the idea of being sealed or forced into obedience, so he wanted Alastor to have the freedom to choose where his loyalty would lie.

Ironically, Henry did not realize that by giving Alastor this freedom, he had already influenced the outcome. By openly telling Alastor that he would never force him and that he was free to make his own choices, Henry earned Alastor's deep respect.

As a result, Alastor naturally developed a strong loyalty toward Henry on his own.

-------

Human form

I also granted Alastor the ability to transform into a human form, identical to his appearance when he was alive in the show. This form was created specifically for espionage and infiltration, allowing him to move unnoticed outside Nazarick when necessary.

In his human form, Alastor does not lose any of his strength or supernatural abilities. Meaning the transformation is purely for appearance and infiltration, This allows him to move unnoticed among outsiders while still being ready to fight or use his powers at any moment.

In his human form his Sense of Justice: 100 and His Alignment: Evil reflects his true nature and loyalty. Despite his charm and theatrical personality, his priorities always favor Nazarick above all else. represents a twisted but extremely strong personal code.

He believes in his own version of fairness and order, even if that 'justice' appears cruel or frightening to others. In his view, actions that benefit Nazarick or punish its enemies can still be considered justified.

Because of these traits, the human transformation turns Alastor into more than just a disguise—it makes him an ideal spy. He can gather information, infiltrate enemy territory, and manipulate situations while remaining just as powerful, intelligent, and dangerous as ever.
