"Then why was the selection ball held?Also aren't people supposed to be with their mates?So why has it become a rule in the royal family?"I ask and she says."The ball was just a show.The real intention was to find the crown prince's mate.And yes,everyone are supposed to be with their fated mates but with time many people have drifted from the moon goddess's decision and chosen their own partners.Specially the other royal families across the world for political reasons."
Political reason?
Makes sense.It's always these darn politics that ruin everything.
"I see. Is it common for two men's to have the same mate?"I ask and she shakes her head immediately."No your highness,it's rather very rare.At least we haven't heard of any other case like this in our generation before you and the prince's."
"Mina,can you tell me more about this mate thing..?In my homeland it's not really common.So i am quite curious about this.How does this even work?"I ask hoping that i dont sound too weird to her.
After all,i am utterly clueless when it comes to this mate bond thing.
Like what are we supposed to even do?

Like animals?
My cheeks flush at my thoughts and i clear my throat to seem calm.

"You guys don't have mates back at your homeland?"She frowns as if i grew two heads and i smile a little awkwardly."Not really,it's more depended on personal preference's back there."
She seems amazed as she nods."Your homeland must be quite modern and developed if you guys have no idea about mates.Now I am quite curious about your home your highness."
My heart skips a beat seeing her innocent eyes and i feel a little guilty for lying.

I look around and my eyes fall on people gathering in a distance outside.It seem's like some kind of gathering..or maybe market?
"Hey Mina,what's that?"I ask pointing outside to quickly change the topic.
"It's the Christmas fair your highness."
I tittle my head a little."Christmas fair?What's that?"
They have Christmas here too?
I didn't know that.
She thinks for a second before explaining."Fair's are like a market set up for special occasions.This one is for Christmas.Today is the last day of the fair since Christmas is already over.Do you want to go and take a look your highness?"
"I can..?"I ask a little surprised and she nods enthusiastically."Of course your highness.Since there hasn't been any official announcement about you,no one will recognise you.It's the perfect time to visit."
She is right.Should i start exploring a little bit since i am already here?
A fair sounds like the perfect start.

"Wow whats this?"I ask completely amazed with the floating lights and crystals.
"Your highness!Your highness wait for me!"Mina comes running,panting heavily."These are lantern's your highness.People lit them wishing for the long life of their dear one's."
"How do they float like this Mina?Is it because of magic?"i ask and she lifts her head proudly."Of course your highness,magic is common for our people.Everything is done with magic here."
I look around enviously at the shops filled with magical things.
Gosh,why don't we have anything like this back in our world?Our world is as bland as it can be.
"Heyy! What's that!!"My eyes lit up and i rush towards the shop that's filled with dazzling accessories.
The fair is bustling with people.There are even people singing and doing some type of act on the streets.Everything here is so new to me.
It's like i have gone back in time when technology was still no where to be seen.
Was our world like this too?
"Whoa.."I look around at the beautiful crystals and glowing jewelleries.
Damn,everything is so beautiful.I think i can forget about going back for the moment and live my dream of being in a fairy tale first.
A certain glow catches my eyes.
"This one.."I grab the one that was shining the most despite being the smallest one.A bracelet?
"It looks beautiful.Oh my,it matches your necklace.Do you want to buy it your highness?"Mina asks and i realise that she is right.
It matches the necklace i got on the Christmas night.It has the same crystal half moon but in a smaller size then my pendant.
And surprisingly this one is shining,unlike my necklace which looks dead at the moment.
Since it looks similar,maybe it can be helpful to me?Should i get it?
As i am staring at the glowing ,the bustling sound of people suddenly stop's.The glow of the crystal seems to draw me in.My ears ring a bit and my heart accelerates all of a sudden.
An old and heavy voice whispers inside my head.
