After seeing Kvedo off, Fulen, who was not familiar with the Trier National Library before, decided to first familiarize himself with each floor, and then decide which books to read and a more specific plan.
The classification of libraries is a rigorous discipline. How to make it easier for readers to find the books they might need and spend their time reading instead of searching for books has cost much effort from renowned Scholars. This is a widely accepted consensus, as long as there are books, as long as books are still precious, and as long as someone wants to establish a library for people to read, whether on the original Earth or the current mystical Earth, a great deal of effort has been expended.
In this world, perhaps because civilization developed on the basis of the previous Earth civilization, the classification of libraries in the two worlds is unexpectedly similar.
The library's classification is divided into 10 types in total, Generalia, Theology, History, Social Sciences, Natural Sciences, Technology, Engineering, Industry, Arts, Language, and Literature. In addition to these ten, the Trier National Library has an additional category called Livelihood, which refers to the books on the first floor of the Trier National Library.
The only difference between these two worlds is that philosophy has been replaced by Theology, and even now, philosophy has never broken away from the scope of Theology. Perhaps because the divine power of the gods in this world manifests from time to time, even the most famous philosopher in Intis, Gekai Allen, a philosopher who can be compared to Lurmi of Loen, can only publicly state that Philosophy is an extension of Theology, only because of Theology can philosophy develop.
In fact, secular philosophical masters are also staunch supporters of Theology, at least on the surface. Lurmi is a devout believer of the Lord of Storms and has been awarded the 'Disciple of Storms' medal, the best medal for non-Lord of Storms church believers; similarly, Gekai Allen is also a devout believer of the Eternal Blazing Sun and possesses the 'Early Morning Sun' medal, which represents the best medal for non-Eternal Blazing Sun church believers.
On Earth, there is an illogical saying "The end of science is philosophy, and the end of philosophy is Theology." Unfortunately, in this world with real gods, where divine power completely suppresses royal power, and with true gods guarding this polytheistic world, this saying has become a reality.
Returning to the library's floor division, the first floor is Livelihood. This category includes books from the other nine categories (excluding Generalia) that are easiest to monetize knowledge into wealth. The classification is less rigorous than other floors, and the knowledge involved is very shallow.
The second floor is divided into three areas. As soon as Fulen entered the second floor, he saw that the area directly facing the stairs was divided into three sections, one on the left, one on the right, and one in the middle. The areas allocated to the left and right sides far exceed the middle section, but the middle area is the most noteworthy part for library newcomers, which is the Generalia area.
The Generalia area is updated frequently because the remaining parts of the library often need to acquire books. Therefore, the Generalia area also needs to be updated frequently, and sometimes, the Generalia books need major changes, especially in the current era of technological explosion.
Additionally, most of the Generalia books are compiled by believers of the God of Steam and Machinery. After all, compiling Generalia requires extensive reading, and in Intis, for the God of Steam and Machinery church, which does not lack Savants, it is a very good way to increase believers. A small portion of the Generalia is compiled by believers of the god of knowledge and wisdom. No other reason, some Generalia are simply too classic.
The area on the left is Theology, and the area on the right is History. The recorded time for History only begins with the Fifth Epoch. Books from the fourth epoch were either burned long ago or exist only as fragmented remnants with unclear meanings. After all, the fourth epoch was the famous Age of Gods, for mortals of the Fifth Epoch, the direct manifestation of gods might affect the ethereal mystery and power of the gods.
"The reasons are complex, mainly because no deity directly rules a nation anymore, and it is also related to the change in how the gods acquire faith. In the fourth epoch, the image of the gods appeared directly. At that time, gods acquired faith, on one hand, because of their immeasurably powerful strength, and on the other hand, because the gods' thoughts were recognized by people. In the fourth epoch, there was no distinction between true gods and evil gods. No, it should be that true gods and evil gods were the same. At that time, there were only two categories: one type of god directly ruled nations, and another type of god did not directly appear." by Ron Louis from his book "The fourth epoch - Age of Gods".
"The fourth epoch - Age of Gods" is a book written by Ron Louis. This author, who experienced the tail end of the fourth epoch, personally witnessed the change in how gods acquired faith in the Fifth Epoch and published this work in his later years. Unfortunately, shortly after his death, this once best-selling book was banned by various churches. This was because such a work greatly undermined the new strategy of the Alliance of True Gods to rule the world.
What people in academia see now are only fragmented copies. People today generally believe that Ron Louis died at the very beginning of the Fifth Epoch. The only thing that makes him known is that he called the fourth epoch the Age of Gods, and by extension, called the Third Epoch the Age of Cataclysm, the Second Epoch the Age of Darkness, the First Epoch the Age of Chaos, and the Fifth Epoch the Iron Age.
Fulen shook his head. This knowledge was actually useless. People wouldn't care if gods had emotions, because it had nothing to do with them. In fact, if one wished, being a shallow believer was perfectly fine, because no one would hold a person's faith against them, though one must have faith.
Going further up, the third floor has two categories of books, Social Sciences and Natural Sciences. Of course, the definition of science at this time differs from the broader definition of so-called science on Earth.
The fourth floor is also divided into two categories, Arts and Language. Language books are slightly fewer, with most being Arts books. Current linguistics is divided into North Continent languages, South Continent languages, and languages from a few minority regions. Although the South Continent has not yet been discovered, countless books prove the existence of this South Continent, which seems to exist in a dreamlike paradise.
The entire fifth floor is the Literature section, with works by various authors and poets, and countless classifications such as novels, poetry, and lyrics.
The sixth floor contains knowledge related to Technology, Engineering, and Industrial divisions, while the seventh floor contains books related to Industry. Newly emerging disciplines are sprouting up like mushrooms. Although the sixth and seventh floors currently appear somewhat sparse compared to the other five floors, it is foreseeable that the sixth and seventh floors will soon be filled with new books.
The seven floors of the Trier National Library, from another perspective, represent the existence of the Seven Gods. After all, the God of Steam, who rose last, could only humble himself slightly before the other six gods and had to make gestures in some insignificant aspects.
Additionally, the library also has several vast underground floors for book storage, which are for the convenience of those who need to borrow copies of books. Of course, most books only have one copy, and only a few books have five copies. This is because the Trier National Library has too many books, and it is impossible for every book to reach a storage capacity of five copies.
