A person passed through the gate.
"Next!!!"
A few moments later....
Another person passed through the gate.
"Next!!!!"
A few moments later....
"Good afternoon!" Spoke Ooro.
"Oh? Are you all in a group?" Asked the soldier.
"Of course. My name is Ooro, and these twelve are my children...." spoke Ooro.
Hearing that, another soldier started writing on his notepad. Documentation of new migrants was emphasized by Lucky and subsequently Elena.
"So, what brings you and your family here?" Asked the prior soldier, a Daywalker.
"Same as everyone else here, to look for a fresh start!" Cheerfully exclaimed Ooro.
"I see, I see. So do you have any specialties?" Asked the Daywalker soldier.
"Specialties? Well, we can all read and write. I heard that you use a slightly different language here? We can adapt, no problem," said Ooro.
"Were you a merchant or something?" Asked the soldier.
"Something like that, but tragedy struck and we're comepletely broke, as you can see...." said Ooro whilst showing off his dirty and ragged clothes.
"If you're a family of merchants, how come some of your sons look so menacing and brutish?" Asked the daywalker.
"What? Brutes?! Come on! They just take after their mother. She was one feisty woman, I miss her so much. She died not long ago...." spoke Ooro, shedding a fake tear using a very small amount of magic afterwards.
"O-oh, I-I see...." spoke the daywalker awkwardly.
"Well, you can go in now. Once you enter, you'll see booths lined up. Each of these booths offer different jobs to be taken, so best of luck to you and your family," added the daywalker.
"Thank you!!!" Spoke Ooro cheerfully, shaking the hand of the daywalker exaggeratedly.
Once the group of undercover mages and knights entered the gates, the non-vampire soldier who was writing on his notepad said something.
"It's them, " he said.
"Who?" Asked the daywalker.
"The ones we let enter. They match the sketches we got," said the soldier.
"Fuck! I'm asking who because I don't know," spoke the daywalker.
"You truly don't know? They're rookies who recently made a name for themselves in the Golden Mercenary Guild! The ones that reached Diamond-rank in just two weeks after joining!!" Yelled the soldier.
"So why do we have sketches for them? Tell me," asked the daywalker.
"Ah sorry, I got too excited. I'm a fan of them. The reason why we have sketches of them is because they might pose some trouble. You've heard of our intelligence organization since you're a vampire, right?"
"I have, but what's the connection?"
"Well, my brother became a member of the intelligence organization ever since he became a vampire. He told me that they have been busy with sketching the faces of all the prominent people near Oer. Apparently it's to prevent trouble? Anyway, he showed me a sketch of the rookies just last night. I thought you already knew though," said the soldier.
"Why are you telling me all of this, isn't it supposed to be a secret?" Asked the vampire soldier.
"Nothing to worry, my brother said that they'll make the sketches of these rookies public once they have printed enough of them. They'll be displayed publicly in our newspapers," spoke the soldier.
"I see.... NEEEEXT!!!" Yelled the vampire soldier after realizing that they had been sidetracked from their job.

Whilst passing the gate, Ooro thought to himself, 'that was a vampire wasn't it?'
'He looked too good-looking. And with pale green skin, red eyes, and noticeable fangs, he's definitely one,' thought Ooro.
'How come he's able to stand in the daylight??' Pondered Ooro.
'I guess that's one more thing to find out,' he thought.
After passing the gate, Ooro and his group began looking around.
What they found....
Were some tents and vast farmlands?
"This is unlike what they advertised...." muttered Aurea.
"Umm, excuse me sir.... is this Oer?" Asked Ooro to a passing old goblin farmer.
"Haha, newcomers like you always ask that. Don't worry, you'll be able to enter Oer through that straight road over there. It's a long walk, so make sure to buy some drinks on those stalls over there...." said the goblin farmer whilst pointing to a nearby busy dirt road.
"Oh, I'm sorry, you all aren't familiar with the currency here, I take it? They're called Credits here. It's different from the gold coins we're most familiar with. Here, money is in the form of paper," added the goblin whilst showing a 1 Credit bill.
"Oh, and don't forget to apply for jobs on those booths, it's easier for newcomers to find jobs through here. I don't recommend trying to find jobs through the city, even us old timers get easily lost, haha," added the goblin further.
"Thanks for the plenty advice, old man!" Replied one of the knights.
"Haha, no problem. If you are interested, my booth is over there. You boys look strong enough to work at my farm! Maybe you can even marry my daughters, they are all still single, haha!" Offered the old farmer.
"...."
'Truly the land of opportunities, huh?' Thought Aurea.
'Even a peasant is wealthy enough to offer jobs for multiple people?' Thought one of Ooro's disciples.
"Old man, can we ask about the laws here? Anything we should pay attention to?" Asked Aurea.
"Laws? Well, once you actually get to the city from this road, there will be police officers. They're sort of like guards, but they work differently. They'll be happy to explain the laws to newcomers and it's also part of their duty," said the old goblin.
After parting their ways, the group finally had entered the true starting point of their investigation.
First, they would have to exchange their gold, silver, and bronze coins for the novelty called Credits.
They saw that a line of people were also exchanging their money.
When they looked at the job booths, there were also huge lines of people in each stall.
When they looked at the food and drink stalls, there were also lines of people.
'Is this the land of opportunities, or is this the land of queuing?' They all thought.
