"So, how was it?" Asked Zed.
"If you made this longer and divide it into several movies, it would sell on Earth like hotcakes," replied Lucky.
"Haha! Now you get why I said to not skip anything, right?" Spoke Zed.
"So how come you look like an old man in the real world?" Asked Lucky.
"Well, it's because I'm dying," spoke Zed.
"You're dying? After living this long? Are you stupid?" Asked Lucky in a barrage.
"Stupid? I just retired, that's all," said Zed.
"I could've extended my life, but I decided to let my life end naturally. This body of mine has a perfectly recreated Draconic Heart in it, it's why I was able to live this long," further explained Zed.
"A two-thousand-year retirement?" Asked Lucky with an incredulous look.
"Look, kid, it wasn't always like this. After I awoke, there was a period when I tried to gather back my old strength.... the reason this body survived this long is also due to that period. But as soon as I reached the 9th Circle again, I stopped."
"I realized.... I realized that it was all pointless. Getting a third chance at life albeit out of my own doing, was great. But after a few hundred years, I realized I had overstayed my welcome in this world...."
"I had so many wives and children throughout my third life here. But time is simply too cruel. My wives, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and so on and so forth.... they all died...."
"Even when I tried lenghtening their lifespans through magic, it was all pointless...."
"You see, magic is not truly magical. It is simply part of this world's laws of physics. You cannot create something out of nothing. Magic itself needs the fuel that is mana...."
"To lengthen my family's lifespan, I began to lengthen their telomeres using magic.... but it was still all too useless in the grand scheme of the universe...."
"My family, one by one, died to other causes. Disease, natural disasters, war, assassinations, stupid knightly duels, and many more. Once I had realized that immortality had limits, I abandoned my family...."
"It's fine though.... when I abandoned them, they were pretty much so far down the generation that they might as well be distant relatives that I couldn't care less about...."
"So kid, don't think that your vampiric immortality would lead to a life of happiness...."
"Afterwards, my motto in living has always been about enjoying my time alone in the Mental Realm for hundreds of years.... I enjoy my time inside by creating various things using magic and imagination."
"Sometimes, I go out into the world to sightsee. Today is one of those rare days I go out. To me, real life is nothing but misery, briefly interspersed with agony," closed Zed.
"That last part.... is that a quote from a game? I recognize it," said Lucky.
"Is it? It's been so long since I've experienced life on Earth. It probably is a video game quote that I somehow managed to etch into my mind...." responded Zed.
Suddenly, they were back in the real world.
Zed had become an old man once again.
"Phew, we're finally back. That was too long of a time to be in there," complained Lucky.
"Don't worry about the time, 1 hour in my Mental Realm is equivalent to 1 minute in the real world," reassured Zed.
"I see...." said Lucky.
"So, what are you going to do now?" Asked Lucky.
"Considering that I don't have much time left in this world, probably around a hundred more years. I'm probably going to sightsee the East continent some more," replied Zed.
"Why not stay here and help me develop my nation with your magic?" Asked Lucky.
"Nope. Why should I work for you for free?" Rejected Zed.
"I'll pay you as much as I can!" Pleaded Lucky.
"Pfft! Ha! You saw my movie right? I had my own Magic Empire back then. I was so rich that I can buy your entire little city-state with just pocket change!" Said the old man.
'It seems that he has truly given up on materialism,' thought Lucky.
"Why not stay just to see how big my nation would become? It would be entertaining for your retirement, surely?" Pleaded Lucky.
"Sorry, but no thanks," replied Zed.
"So you're a NEET and a coward?" Provoked Lucky.
"No amount of provocative words could bait me to stay," replied Zed.
"Besides, being near a fellow Earthling like you only reminds me of the bullshit I had to go through in this world. It's making me want to stay here even less," added Zed.
"...."
"Oh, that reminds me. Here, I found this thing around a thousand years ago. Seems like it's made by an Earthling as well. Haven't opened it though, but I still kept it," said Zed whilst opening a small circle portal in the air.
He reached into the protal and brought a metallic ball inscribed with words.
"Twist this to open?" Lucky read the writing inscribed.
It was written repeatedly in English, Mandarin, Spanish, Portuguese, French, and Arabic.
"I don't know when this was made, but it fell through the skies like a meteor in a town I was sightseeing...." spoke old man Zed.
"I'll gift it to you. Good luck," said the old man.
As soon as he said that, he disappeared out of thin air.
Looking at the metal ball, Lucky began rethinking about his life.
'Am I going to live a pointless life like the old man was saying?' Thought Lucky gloomily.
'No, I am my own self. I exist, therefore I am.'
'I'll live for as long as I can. If I can make everyone become practically immortal, wouldn't that ease the pain of living?'
'No, with science and vampirism, surely there is a way to make everyone have infinite lifespan without having to worry about drinking blood or the sunlight.'
'I have already lived a life full of regret and pain back on Earth, so I should at least live in this world as long as I can and with as much happiness as I could achieve.'
'When I become a jaded old man that hates living, that will probably be the time to pass on my will.'
