Chapter 31 - Chapter 31 - Mental Realm (1)

"Please don't think of anything pornographic, I can read your thoughts in this realm," explained the old man.

"Oh, uh, sorry," apologized Lucky.

"Anyway, this is my mental realm. It's probably my best masterpiece in this world," said the old man.

"Let me change into something better," added the old man.

Then, his whole body and outfit transformed.

He was now....

'A young man in a lab coat?' Thought Lucky.

"Ah, much better. My name is Zed Ilkovich," introduced the old man, now looking like a young man in his 30s.

"I'm Lucky," said Lucky.

"Lucky? Oh, that's your name? I thought you were saying you're lucky to be here," sarcastically spoke Zed.

"Enough with the jokes, just tell me what happened?" Asked Lucky.

"Yeesh, what a party pooper. Fine, fine, it's about to start anyway," spoke Zed.

Suddenly, an endless sea of children, both human and non-human appeared.

"As you have guessed, this is a reenactment of the tutorial," spoke Zed.

"We both already know about this, so just skip this part. I want to know what hapoened after this," urged Lucky.

"Damn, why can't you just enjoy the movie I painstakingly made using my own memories?! It took a long fucking time to make this!!" Yelled Zed.

"Fine...." agreed Lucky.

****

The memory movie lasted for a whopping 6 hours long.

Most parts were boring, consisting of the mundane life of Zed after he first came here.

But when it came to a certain moment during the last quarter of the movie, the tone shifted.

Everything was chaotic, and the movie ended in a depressing note.

To summarize, it was a tragedy.

Zed had been one of a thousand humans that arrived here from the Tutorial.

Although their arrival times varied, they all arrived within the same week. At least that's what the movie told.

Since they were all children at arrival, they spent most of their early years in this world either living in orphanages or as beggars in the streets.

Surprisingly, not much had changed in terms of this world's civilization.

During the movie, Zed had casually explained that they arrived in this world 2,341 years ago.

Thus, there was a dissonance.

How come the world looked as medieval as it looked today?

If more than 2,000 years had passed, surely a lot of things would have changed in terms of science and technology.

When Lucky asked this, Zed only told him to continue watching.

As the movie progressed, the life of Zed in the movie had changed.

Using his two draconic traits and his talent in magic, he quickly secured himself as a prominent mage.

This took him only 20 years.

Around this time as well would Zed learn that there were others beside him that came from Earth.

Unfortunately, most of the thousand Earthlings had seemed to have died.

Of the original thousand, only around a hundred had survived that long.

The world of this time as well was full of warring territories, kingdoms, and empires.

But unlike the attempted attack Oer had just experienced, these wars were on a whole different scale.

Not to mention, the spectacle of the wars had been further increased by the cheat-wielding Earthlings.

These were wars of such epic proportions that Lucky thought they could be sold as a movie franchise on Earth.

Then, another 3 decades had passed.

This time, only 10 were left.

These ten Earthlings were the strongest, luckiest, and most fearsome Earthlings.

Zed Ilkovich was one of these Earthlings, hailed as the continent's only grand archmage.

If an archmage was the title of a mage in the range of a 7th Circle ot a 9th Circle, then a grand archmage was a title of myths.

One that could only be bestowed upon a mage that managed to reach beyond the 9th Circle, the mythical 10th Circle.

No one knew how it was even possible, but apparently Zed had reached such a realm.

It was crazier that there were 9 other beings as strong or even stronger than Zed.

The movie did not tell of their names, but it did show off their titles for some reason.

The Dragonslayer.

The Godly Bow.

The Spear of The Heavens.

The Knight of Knights.

The Sword God.

The Spirit Queen.

The Fist Demon.

The Carrion of Blood.

The Frost Giant.

And finally, The Grand Archmage.

And they all had to thank their choices in the Tutorial.

Though based on Zed's reactions, it seemed that he hated his choices.

Anyway, the movie's plot progressed at lightning speeds from this point onwards.

This was because the 10 had achieved their goal.

They had united the whole continent.

Why would they do such a thing?

Well, they had to.

Because their real enemy was a single entity.

The god of this world, named Kalastus.

See, during their turbulent lives in this world, they had unavoidably attracted the attention of Kalastus.

The god of this world, who usually didn't interfere in the matters of the mortal world, was suddenly targeting them.

Kalastus had noticed that his power was being threatened.

The Earthlings had made too big of a name for themselves.

The people of this world began worshipping them as if they were gods.

In turn, this human worship weakened Kalastus' godly powers.

Kalastus, in an act of wrath, sent his army of angels down to this world.

Thus, began the war of the fake gods and the so-called true god of this world.

The war was so intense that it lasted for a hundred years.

The war was also the reason why there were two continents in the present instead of what was originally one supercontinent.

Zed had personally called it Ragnarok, taking inspiration from the Norse mythology.

In the end, the 10 Earthlings lost.

Kalastus had won.

In an attempt to fix the supply of belief in Kalastus.

Kalastus rewrote the history of this world.

Indictrinating the inhabitants of this world into believing that the 10 fake gods were apostles of himself.

In reality, Kalastus had killed all of them.

Well, that was technically not true.

Kalastus did not kill all of them....

In the final act of the movie, a clone of Zed Ilkovich awoke.

This clone had inherited all the memories of its original body up until death.

And thus, the movie ended.
