Weeks after the ambush had happened, the line of migrants entering Oer had resumed.
There weren't just goblins lining up, there were other races as well.
They had of course heard of the vampire situation.
Unlike goblins with their short lifespan, these other races weren't as tempted to become vampires.
No, the real reason these people went to Oer was due to Lucky's new advertising campaign through Oer Trading Company.
They had heard of Oer's victory in the war through rumours.
Rumours that weren't supposed to spread this fast, but somehow did.
Because of this, Lucky decided to ride the waves of victory and had Oer advertising itself as a meritocracy.
Oer was advertised as a land of opportunities with a growing economy.
Meaning, as long as you work hard and smart enough, you can get an equivalent reward.
To expand its influence, Oer had taken over the nearby villages including Otur.
These villages would now serve under Oer's administration.
And these villages shockingly hadn't rejected. Well, Otur couldn't to begin with since no one was living there anymore.
Taxes were also uplifted for the poor, so everyone should have a chance of succeeding.
The starving goblin peasants were not only tempted, they were also desperate enough to join Oer.
Not to mention, Oer offered no taxes for merchant guilds, giving these merchants a chance to flourish in a new and thriving market.
But let's go back to the non-goblin refugees.
Surprisingly, a majority of them were humans. Not a common race living in the East continent, where Oer was.
What were they here for other than new opportunities?
Well, there was an idea that Lucky had gambled on.
What if other humans from Earth also landed here?
Although the East continent was more dangerous and unstable compared to the West continent, it still was suitable enough to have some small human nations.
The goblin kingdom, Utara, had a border with a small human country in the south called the Republic of Avant.
Throughout the years of his trading company's operation, the Republic of Avant had been his biggest trading partner.
Why? Because it wasn't landlocked like most nations in the East continent.
It had access to the seas, and it traded mostly with the West continent's nations.
This was the reason why Oer's own scientific knowledge base had risen so smoothly.
They were his biggest customers of paper and he was their biggest customer of raw materials in the East continent.
And now, after winning the attack, he had the perfect chance to advertise about the greatness of his newly established nation.
The contents of his advertisements were more akin to an announcement.
One, it doesn't matter what race or rank in society you are, Oer will hire you.
Two, as long as you're willing to learn, Oer will hire you.
Three, rich or poor, Oer will hire you.
Four, if you have any special skills you could show or even if you don't have any, Oer will hire you.
And finally, if you know about the "White Space", Oer will definitely hire you.

The line for immigrants entering Oer was long, so long that one could technically be there all day and night without even reaching the gate.
In this line, six mages and seven knightts were disguised as mere peasants hoping to enter Oer.
These were Ooro Baldur and his disciples, along with Aurea and the other knights.
Why were they doing this?
Well, they had no choice.
At first they were journeying back to their respected homes, but before splitting up, they had realized it was better if they acted like they had already died during the bombardment.
For the knights, their duties were supposed to be protecting their young lords or relatives to their lords sent as representatives by the nobles.
But not only did the ones they were supposed to protect had died, they themselves had lived.
Every knight in this world had one thing in common, they should always prioritize protecting and serving the noble families that they served.
No matter the race, that was one thing they all stood by.
To award such loyalty, the nobles they served would always grant prosperity to them and their family.
As long as they died in duty, their families would be guaranteed a life of no worries after their deaths.
So if they were to go back now, it would definitely be seen as them abandoning their duties and saving their owwn asses.
Which would in turn possibly make them receive punishment. Not only that, they could get demoted into mere soldiers again and their families would go back to living miserable lives.
For the mages, it was different.
The civil war of Utara Kingdom had ended, and the one who won wasn't the King, but his uncle.
As royal mages, they were on the King's side, not his uncle's.
If they were to be caught, they would surely be executed.
But weren't mages rare and valuable?
Unfortunately, that didn't matter in the current scheme of things.
The uncle of the now dethroned king of Utara, Ichor Utara, was the half brother of the previous king.
Ichor's mother was from an extremely prominent mage family in Utara. The Yagyub family.
The Yagyub family had discovered a way to artificially create 1st Circle mages.
These mages were stuck at 1st Circle their whole lives, but they were still mages.
The bulk of their army consisted of these artificial 1st Circle mages.
The Royal Magic Academy vehemently rejected the Yagyub family for creating these artificial mages, citing the act as the breaking of tradition and a taboo.
Most royal mages agreed with the academy due to them also being graduates or current students of it.
One of the reasons why the Yagyub family agreed to let Ichor Utara take over the kingdom was for him to make them rule over all magic-related stuff in the kingdom.
Eliminating the opposing faction, the Royal Mages and their academy was the Yagyub family's biggest reason for supporting Ichor.
Unfortunately for Ooro and his disciples, this meant that they were the target for elimination.
In fact, Ooro Baldur was a lecturer of the academy.
His disciples were also current students of the academy, even though they were also already royal mages.
When they heard of the news, they were still figuring out how to explain themselves to the archmage of the kingdom.
They were stalling for time by resting at a nearby village.
But now, the archmage had died and the crown was now on Ichor Utara.
If they were to go back, they would definitely be imprisoned at least.
Having nowhere to go, they first tried to get a job in the Republic of Avant.
The knights, having nowhere to go as well, decided to follow them.
Luckily for them, the world's largest mercenary guild, the Golden Mercenary Guild, was always open to new hires.
After weeks of grinding small odd quests, they finally landed on their first large-paying quest.
The main objective was to assess the danger level of the new vampire city, Oer.
Since Oer was now openly admitting itself as a city ruled by vampires, some safety measures had to be taken.
