Adrian entered his room in a fist of anger ignoring his mother's call. For the first time in many years he has started to blame her, maybe if she had listened to Mariah, maybe if she had given Mariah the benefits of doubt, things would not have happened.
His sister would have been with him right now and they would have been a perfect family together. Now, his dad has not come home for almost three years ,he only sees him on his birthday when he comes to wish him a happy birthday with a present.
Even that, his dad will leave immediately he sees his mom's face.
He let out a frustrated sign and ran his hands in his black hair while his eyes stared into nothing particular.
The memories he had with his sister is very happy one.
Mariah had been spoiling him since he could remember, she always listens to his rants about how his day at the school went whether she's busy or tired.
They were one happy family but things went south because his mom let their so called cousin came and lived with them. So in simple terms,his mom Alma Rivera is the cause of all the problems they are facing now.
His phone started ringing drawing him out of his thoughts.
" Hello sir, what do we do to her please" the police detective who is called Nerman Brown asked Adrian in a very careful way, for he don't want to offend the young but powerful lawyer.
" Keep her in cell without any interrogation and make sure that you don't grant her a bail. Also let me know if anyone tries to bail her .
I know that you detective Nerman will do your job well"
Adrian said with his voice dripping with dominant and threat and a dark face.
" I will Mr. Rivera" Nerman answered,
he is no fool so he knows that this lady's life is about to end.
Alma entered the as soon as Adrian ended the call.
Alma: Adrian I was calling you, didn't you hear me.
Adrian: I heard you loud and clear but I'm not in the mood to entertain you today.( he said with annoyance in his face and voice).
Alma: what are you saying Adrian, you know it's not easy for me, i just want to talk you about your sister. She is not making any effort to reconcile with me or our family and your father is still willing to divorce after all this years. Do you know how hard it is for me?...
Adrian: Hahahahaha(sarcastically)....Yes, it's always you, you this ,you that,bla bla bla.
Have ever thought that all this happened because of you. You brought that snake in this house. You always compared her to Mariah and even let everyone in this mansion know that you prefer someone's daughter over your own daughter. You push my sister away and then finally sent her away from your life. So why you acting as if you are the victim huh, you....
Alma: But....
Adrian: But what,she did everything just to please you but no, you never appreciates her efforts. You control everything she do , her clothes,shoes, bags,school, the food she eats and you even chose a fiance for her when she was just fifteen years, fifteen years mom.
She never friends thanks to you but still you were not satisfied. You made her unhappy in her own father's house.
When the truth came out, you still prevented dad for seeking justice for my sister because of your pride and reputation,now you had the audacity to say that "your dad still wants to divorce me after all this years".
So please don't stand here and act all victim cause you are the cause of everything that happens to her or our family. So well done, I'm leaving take your house Mrs Alma Rivera".
Adrian feels empty after finally venting his frustration that he had kept in a long time. He made a call as he entered his car.
" Sis I want to talk to you and I won't eat until you talk to me " he said when the phone connected.
Alma still stood there in shock even after Adrian left the house. This the first time his son has talked to her in that way.
Now what should she do, she came to talk to him about Mariah and Noa but he is also gone.
He is gone too.
