Javier finished reading the investigation report on what happened to Mariah ten years ago. He now knows why she's too scared to open up to him. Though they stated that Mariah's cousin,Noa was the one responsible for whatever happened,he still feels like there's someone behind the scenes causing all the problems.
A knock came in.
" Boss , Hugo and Lucia are reported to be back on Friday and Mr. and Mrs Delgado send their regards from India". His assistant reported.
" Also boss, we have a meeting with Mr. Alonzo this afternoon regarding the housing project"
His assistant paused as he didn't get a reaction from his words.
" What's wrong Joshua" , Javier asked seeing his assistant looking at him with curiosity.
" Boss ,Mr. Alonzo was the fiance of Miss Rivera or maybe still her fiance since their engagement was not properly cancelled", Joshua said with caution.
The room suddenly becomes cold as a certain man is getting angry. Her fiance huh, they didn't even wait but wants to strike again now the news of her arrival has been spread thanks to her mom.
That woman seriously needs a good lesson.
" Send Jack and his men to protect Mariah in the shadows, tell them that they shouldn't let her find out , also call my friends and let them know that I can't meet them tonight".
"Roger that boss" , Joshua answers as he leaves to carry out as instructed.
" Chief, it's time for the meeting" Julia reported.
" Is their team in ?" Mariah inquired.
"Yes , Miss Rivera" she replied.
" Good, time to meet old friends" Mariah said with a chill in her eyes.
Her aura suddenly changed from cold Mariah to dangerous Mariah.
Julia who is focusing on preparing the files was instantly alarmed with the change in her boss.
Why does it feel like her boss Mariah, is going to the third world war ?.
"Stop daydreaming and let's go " Mariah snapped at her assistant with an edge in her voice impatiently.
The meeting conference room is said to be the battle field in the world of business and right now, there is sure a war is about to go on.
Alonzo sits on the left side of table with his team waiting for the finance manager of this company to come. But he doesn't know why their CEO Javier, is staring or more like glaring at him.
Javier who is sitting at the head of the table continues to glare at the so-called fiance of his woman.
He doesn't know why he still feels agitated though he knows they were just fiance on paper.
His involvement with what to happened to Mariah makes him want to throw him under a moving bus. Now where is the woman in question, is she dolling up to meet her first time lover?.
Huh heartless woman,he thought with a sour face.
The people in room begin to shift in their seats cause a certain CEO is looking pissed right now and temperature is cold, so so cold .
The door suddenly opened revealing Mariah and her team. She quietly and majestically walked and sits on her seat, which is on Javier immediate right while her team members also take their seats.
Gilbert looks at Mariah and couldn't believe his eyes. So ,she is really back and working as the chief Finance manager in LGADO.
He looks at her with interest, she seems different or changed maybe.
She hasn't spared him a glance since she enters making him wonder if she still holds on to what happened in past.
But right now, he has to test the waters and see.
Gilbert : It's been a long time Mariah or should I say my fiancee.
( The room suddenly turned quiet,all activities halted while Javier watched from aside with a dark face).
Mariah: Mr Alonzo, do you have problem with professionalism . Do you want me to call your president to change the person in charge of this project.?
( Mariah words made Gilbert livid, everyone knows the favored illegitimate son of the Alonzo's, who competed in everything with him.)
Gilbert: Ha , you seem to have grow wings. What happened to the dumb and unwanted daughter of the Rivera family. Which hole did you crawl out from for you to think that you are now somebody.
( Now, all the people in the room are now shaking and Javier is smirking at the good show as his eyes trail to Mariah who is now raising her eyebrows. Hmm it the show is about to spike up).
Mariah: tch tch , Is your brain fried from lack of love. I'm damn sure that you have to beg your father before having this project. Yet ,you sit here spouting rubbish instead of focusing on the project. Have the decency to separate your private life from your professional life, something that even our receptionist knows knows how to do.
And oh, I will be making a request to your president office to change the person in charge of the project because clearly your useless brain can't function right now, Mr Alonzo.
