OMG! I overslept, I woke up feeling so drained, tired, and confused but hey!! I can't afford to miss class because I need to submit the project that I was leading, so I quickly cleaned up, changed the sheets, and had my shower, then I hurriedly left for lectures.
When I got to school I submitted the project and was about heading home and then you won't believe who I ran into, "Matheo." And to my greatest surprise, Matheo who never serenades any girl in school was acting all lovey-dovey with Amanda.
Suddenly, I couldn't feel my breath anymore, it was as if my body had become too heavy for my legs to carry, my vision became blurry and my heart was beating so fast.
"Matheo," I said underneath my voice, he looked at me and just walked past me with her. I blacked out for a sec and my legs started to shake, I couldn't believe my eyes. Matheo had never walked past me before. Every time he sees me, he is always eager to engage me in a conversation and also tells me how beautiful and sexy I look.
"Ava, are you okay?" Rita (my closest friend in school) screamed.
"Yes, yes," I murmured.
"Are you sure, you look like you just saw a ghost," she said.
"I'm fine" I said hurriedly hoping she would catch the cry of helplessness in my voice. I told her I was coming and I needed to get something, and I then left. I used the last energy in me and ran to the school toilet where I broke into tears, I didn't even know where to start from to comprehend my pain, "I was just raped by someone whom I love."
I thought out loud (OMG!! I couldn't even believe myself, I had just admitted for the first time that I was in love with him also), and then secondly he isn't even trying to be accountable or anything, he isn't even sorry for what he did, he just raped me and left me there all alone, no regret, Nothing!! And to crown it all "why is he with Amanda?".
I had so many unanswered questions so I decided I was going to get answers so I don't go crazy, then i decided to go to his house for the first time but on my way, Rita called me on the phone and asked, "Are you sure everything is okay, I just saw Matheo and Amanda leaving the school together, did you do anything to him, this one isn't all over you today."
"He has finally understood that I don't want him" I answered to hide the shame, disgust, and confusion I feel. We exchanged other pleasantries then I told her I was going to talk to her later and then ended the call. I took a cab and then went to his house but on getting there I was so astonished at how beautiful, big, and well-furnished the house was. There was also loud music coming from the house, so I knocked for a while before Sam (his best friend) came out and opened the door.
"Ava, what are you doing here?" He said, surprised at my arrival.
"I'm here to see Matheo, please can you call him for me" I said calmly, feeling a little embarrassed. He then went inside to call him but to my greatest amusement Matheo refused to see me and sent Sam to tell me he was busy. I just collected whatever was left of my pride, booked another ride, and went to my dorm.
On getting home I realized Amanda still hasn't been back since yesterday, so I just made noodles, ate, and went back to bed crying because I just can't fathom what had happened to me these past hours. Then suddenly I heard a knock and I was like Oh, the queen is finally back and then went to open the door to my greatest surprise, Matheo was standing on the door, looking so handsome with his six-pack and muscles so defined. He was wearing a black shirt with the top buttons open and well-tailored black trousers with some accessories and he smelled so good. His smell is something that drives me crazy, so masculine and yet so gentle. I could tell his smell from miles away.
I looked at him lost in thought and then finally asked "What are you doing here", Before he could even reply, Amanda pushed the door open and then I almost lost my balance but Matheo pulled me to him and said "Baby are you okay?
I stared at him for a while not knowing what I should do or say before I pulled myself out of his grip and eyed him and then went back to my bed.
He then entered my room with Amanda and then went to Amanda's bed with her.
I just stared at them blankly then with all the courage I could gather, I went to meet him at Amanda's bed and said
"Can I talk to you outside?"
He looked at Amanda and then looked back at me and then replied "Sure"
So he went outside and I followed after him and then I closed the door.
"Matheo, how could you do this to me?" I asked with tears dropping from my eyes.
" I thought you said you loved me, I thought you said you would never hurt me or let anyone hurt me, I thought you said you'd wipe away all my tears and never let a tear drop from my eyes because of you, you promised," I said shakingly with my face soaked in tears.
" How could you, how could you?" I asked.
"Baby, baby I was drunk and I can explain," he said.
"Don't baby me, are you okay?" I shouted. He then came closer to me and used his right arm to push me to him and then placed his hands on my face and said gently "Baby, I can explain, you know I love you right?
I pulled away from him and said "You must be mad, no you must be sick," I shouted.
"You came to my house raped me, abandoned me on this bed and to crown it all when you saw me in school you walked past me like i was non existent and then i gathered myself for the last time and came to your house yet you refused to meet me, and now you are telling me about love, if this is what your love means then it should never find me, i curse the day i met you," i said with my face soaked in tears and my voice trembling in fear.
Then he said "Baby …..
