"Ava, what are you doing here?" Amanda asked
I was so stunned to speak, because that was the exact question I wanted to ask her but then I recalled we just recently had this conversation where I told her there was nothing between Matheo and me and she could have him.
While I was still trying to gather my thoughts, Matheo who also heard the bell came out to see who it was and then saw Amanda, Well he wasn't as stunned as I was he just told his guys to offer her something and then he ignored both me and Amanda and then went back into his room.
I didn't understand his reaction, so I went to his room to understand his action and also to ask him what Amanda was doing there.
"Matheo, what is Amanda doing here?" I asked, but was met with an awkward silence.
"Matheo, Matheo, I'm talking to you," I said, tapping him slightly, but still no response.
I was about to tap him again when we heard a knock on the door, so he went to open the door and then Amanda came in and said she wanted to speak to him, so he went out of the room with her still ignoring me.
I got pissed at the whole situation and decided to leave his house. I went to pick up my bag from the room I was staying in and then while I was heading out I saw him and Amanda talking so intimately. My heart immediately sank and I could feel the river that was about to drop out of my eyes.
I hurriedly left his house, booked a ride, and went to Rita's ( my closest friend) house because my heart was too heavy and I started to feel suffocated, like I felt like I couldn't breathe anymore. On my way to his house, I was still looking out to see if he followed and I was also constantly checking my phone to see if there was a text or call from him but nothing. He completely ignored me again.
When I got to Rita's dorm she welcomed me warmly and then she asked worriedly, "Ava, are you okay? You don't seem fine at all, you've been acting weird these past days"
"I'm not okay, I'm not okay," I replied bursting out in tears
"Omg! What happened? she asked while coming close to me to comfort me.
I told everything that had happened to me recently and how I feel about Matheo excluding the fact that he raped me.
"I can't believe Amanda would do this to you," she said in shock at what I had just said.
"Ava, if you feel this way about Matheo why don't you open up to him and tell him how you feel, everyone can tell that this guy is crazy about you, he literally does everything to make you happy, Lots of girls envy and wish to be in your position including Amanda. Your room is filled with gifts from Matheo, so I guess that's why she's doing all these things to claim him for herself," Rita said angrily.
" I guess it's too late now, he tried to touch me and then I slapped him because we are not on the best of terms. I merely went to his house because of the accident he had and after that, he just started ignoring me," I said, still crying.
"Ava, the guy has tried, put yourself in his shoes. He has been trying to make you his girlfriend since you entered this school. I know you have a good relationship with him but he wants more, don't you understand?" Rita said
Then I said "You wouldn't understand Rita, you don't know what this guy did to me recently, I can't forgive him but I still love him, I don't know what to do."
"What did he do?" she asked
I told her I was going to tell her later, we spoke for a while and then I went back to my dorm and fell asleep almost immediately.
I woke up to no call or text from Matheo, nothing. Before this incident, we've never stayed a day without talking to or texting each other. We spoke for hours every single day on the phone and on any day we met in school. I always acted indifferent to him but I wasn't indifferent to him at all. I enjoyed and looked forward to our conversations. I loved the way he looked at me, his gentle touches whenever we were speaking, his appearance, his body, and Omg! His smell.
I couldn't admit all of these to him or to myself until now because I didn't like how he oppresses people and how he sleeps around. I felt like I had admitted all this here because I finally had the perfect excuse to no longer speak or care about him. I mean he did something terrible to me but the more I tried to hate him, the more I saw how in love I was with him.
Weeks passed and I didn't hear anything from Matheo. I kept expecting him to show up at my door or call me but he did not. He completely ignored me. Amanda came by briefly while I was in school, packed her things, and left and since then I haven't heard from her either.
I was losing my mind. I was missing him badly, his touches, his voice, and his smell.
I couldn't take it anymore so I decided to call Rita and tell her how he had completely ignored me, and how I feel so suffocated and depressed, which I did and then she asked if I would like to accompany her to our classmate's party
that night. So I accepted her offer, later that night I wore a short floral gown with sneakers and then I did light makeup and headed out.
I met up with Rita along the way and we went to the party together. Then the most shocking thing happened!!
