Blitzkrieg (DxD AU Vali SI) CH3
…
-Vali Lucifer-
My meeting with this world's Joker aside, the burden on my shoulders had lessened considerably after killing Razevan.
And I was also not lying about taking a bath to rid myself of his germs.
So after taking a long and relaxing bath, I decided to go exploring. And I've got to say that this castle is huge.
Like seriously, and it was just made for Rizevim rather than the whole Lucifer family.
Makes you wonder how big Lucifaad's castle is. I shook my head and went back to wandering.
It was also very empty, most of the rooms were sealed because nobody used them and there were no windows. Why? Because Devils don't have or need sunlight or light in their homes.
Ajuka Beelzebub had also made the Sun and Moon "recently" (in Devil years) so only the most progressive of the Devil's had windows in their homes.
And the Old Satan Faction is nothing if not progressive! I chuckled sarcastically.
After finally wandering around for so long, I arrived at the big room filled with thousands of books. The Library.
It was massive. With 6 floors in total, Devils were greedy hoarders after all. And as I found out by asking a shivering servant, this Library was nothing compared to the one in Lucifaad. Plus, most of the books here were "brand new" (again in Devil terms) which meant at least a few centuries old.
With that, I took a stroll and took out any book that caught my fancy. Because even if I vaguely recalled this world from the anime and light novels I had seen and read years ago, I needed to jog my memory a bit.
Because my memory of this thing was not perfect. In fact I only vaguely remember the Lucifer Clan Trait of The Demonic Brilliance of Evil Light.
And I'm pretty sure I was supposed to have Divine Dividing. I thought and bit my lips. Which meant that my meta-knowledge was unreliable.
I sighed as I dropped the books on the table and sat down. It is also the reason that I decided to quickly kill Razevan as "canon" was fucked anyways. And I had no reason to leave the Old Satan Faction right now.
I cracked my neck. So let's read.
…
I was an avid reader in college. Managing to finish a 500 page book in 2 or 3 days. And I had found anime and light novels by complete coincidence.
And I was instantly hooked.
Though once I passed out and started my business, I didn't have time left to enjoy it and I drifted away from it. Though I still remembered a few notable ones.
One of them was Highschool DxD.
I didn't remember it was because it was good. But because it was hilariously bad. A guy powers up by touching girl's boobs?! Ha!
It was an interesting concept at least. And the background lore was very good. Shame it was executed in such a bad way though, it had some real potential.
And as the years passed, I kinda forgot about it. That is, until I woke up as the main character's rival in that same ecchi anime world.
I rubbed my eyes in tiredness as I finished with my pile of books. But the feeling of satisfaction was wafting off of me.
I was feeling a little bit more sure of myself right now. That despite not having a Sacred Gear I could make it.
The Demonic Brilliance Of Evil Light, or Evil Light for short, was an OP power. It was basically like having a Green Lantern ring. You could do anything, enhance yourself, create anything, only your imagination was the limit. And if your opponent is hit by it then it's practically over for them since the "poison" effect is super effective against every demonic and holy being. But the best part? The OG Lucifer could deny the Miracles that God Of The Bible enacted.
Which means that I've got a Trump Card in case a certain supernatural-hating spear wielder fought me.
Thinking about this, didn't Rizveim have a Sacred Gear Nullifier or something? If he could recreate this effect of Miracle defying Evil Light by just himself then I could also do it after trial and error (since I had the Clan Trait).
And who says that I can't have a Sacred Gear? I remembered the first arc of the show where a side-villain had a Sacred Gear Extractor.
Yeah. I nodded to myself. That is my first goal, my first step to becoming strong.
But first I had to train. Train my Clan Trait and Magic until I was strong enough to either take one from the Fallen Angels or request one from Rizevim.
This is where I will start, first to get a few more wings then to acquire the Extractor. A Devil's Power Level could be observed by seeing the number of Wings they have. The Super Devils have 12, Satan class have 10, Ultimate class have 8, High class (those that haven't been given the title just because of their lineage) have 6, Middle class has 4, and Low class has just two.
My growth was stunted because of Razevan but now I was free to grow.
And I would grab this opportunity with my being!
…
Months passed in a blur as I busied myself with my training. And even if I don't want to say it, Euclid was a big help.
His way of training me was simple. Experience. According to him, I had all the time and resources to learn magic but to make my Clan Trait shine I would have to enter a life or death battle constantly.
This would enhance the power of my Clan Trait because of desperation and also improve my senses and skills in a battle because of experience and instinct.
But after the first training session, he told me that he could not fight me with his all because the gap between us was just too much.
I was ready to blow my fuse up at that moment. But he continued by saying that he had another way.
Have you ever fought for your life in the sky while also deflecting the fire breaths from 20 wyverns?
Well, I have. And fun fact, the "poison" effect of Evil Light is not very effective against dragon-type monsters. So I had to kill them with brute force rather than just one-shotting them.
His idea of "training" me involved taking me to the Wild Lands of the Underworld and chucking me there until I killed everything there.
It was brutal, it was hard and it was bloody.
I loved it. I loved the satisfaction of feeling myself grow stronger. Of breaking past my limits.
Him being such a slave driver had only made the training more worth it.
-As I had quickly achieved High Class signified by the extra pair of wings on my back.
One thing about the "Devil Wings" was that they only represented one's demonic energy reserves and not their strength. So most of the times a Devil was stronger than what his wings told you, this especially the case for Devil's who had a Clan Trait.
In just two months, my Clan Trait had become strong enough that I could destroy a small mountain easily with a blast. And my constructs had become much stronger and durable- being able to hold much power.
I hadn't noticed it when fighting Razevan but almost all of my constructs were destroyed after just a hit, and I had to keep remaking them. Of course this was a huge magic drain.
But I had quickly noticed this when fighting against the Demonic beasts.
My answers? Increasing the amount of magic I put in the constructs and constantly training my magic control (as Evil Light was a Clan Trait it couldn't mesh with the super efficient Lucifer Clan Magic Circles so I had to learn the control myself).
The result was that while now it took more magic to create a construct, they were much stronger and (because of my better magic control) much more efficient in magic consumption.
So basically while it took more to create a construct, it would last longer so it was actually costing less mana as I saved a bunch by not having to constantly remake them.
Get it?
Another thing that I trained was my mental focus. Since Evil Light was a much stronger but complex trait than Power Of Destruction, I had to keep my mental focus trained to the utmost to constantly create new, different and stronger constructs in battle.
This is where my time in the Library came to use. The human Magician had a nifty spell which they used to enhance their thoughts (because their magic used calculations and they had to do them quickly in a battle) it was called [Thought Acceleration].
Yes, it was the same spell as Fate, but while the human version of the spell had limits because of their biology, the devil-recreation invented by Ajuka Beelzebub was not as restricted.
Just like every Devil spell. Because Devil Magic spells didn't have an upper limit. The limit lies solely with the user of the spell.
Take [Thought Acceleration] for example. I, a new High Class Devil, could only accelerate his thoughts 10 times to the original speed. While it is said that Ajuka Beelzebub could do so enough times that to him it seemed like Time had stopped.
So why weren't people using such a useful spell? Well, they were. But this wasn't a Battle oriented spell, just because your thoughts are accelerated doesn't mean your body is. So only Magicians or Researchers used this spell and only when they were doing some big ritual or performing a powerful spell.
But for me? This spell was exactly what I needed. As I could enhance my body's speed with Evil Light but not my perception, so with this I could react as fast as my body.
Which was a lot faster.
This spell also came with a [Parallel Calculation] spell, which let the user divide his mind in two making the calculating speed even faster. Similar to the previous spell this one also didn't have any limits and they were solely based on the user (I could only run 3 "Minds" at a time safely).
Though unlike the Fate one, this one didn't make you immune to Hypnosis or Mind Control as the two parallel "Minds" were still connected.
With both of these spells my constructs had doubled in quantity when in a fight.
And not to mention that I had also learned a myriad of other spells too. One for every basic element in fact (Fire, Water, Wind, Earth, Ice, Lightning). They were pretty basic ones like "Fireball" or "Lightning Wave" but they gave me enough versatility that if I was ever in a pickle, I could use Evil Light to enhance their capabilities to get out.
But the field I truly shine in was Barriers. The best part about them was how malleable they could be, yet be so tough. In the past few weeks I had been making considerable progress with them, almost on the level of the progress I had made with Evil Light!
But my training would experience a "small" hiccup.
Why?
Because 6 months after I had "woken" up in the Underworld, I would get my first "mission".
