The room erupted in hushed conversations.
I remained composed, meeting Liana's gaze directly. "I'm curious, Liana—where exactly did you pick up these stories? Got any proof to back up what you're saying?"
"Absolutely!" Liana shot back with unwavering confidence. "The Tracy manager is a personal contact of mine. I can call him right now and let everyone hear it straight from the source!"
Liana's strategy was obvious—she wanted to destroy my reputation in front of this entire crowd. Whitney stood by silently, clearly hoping I'd make a fool of myself.
"By all means, make the call," I replied, keeping my smile light and my expression calm, showing no trace of worry.
Liana didn't hesitate. She pulled out her phone, dialed the Tracy manager, put it on speaker, and fired her question: who had actually bought the Tracy haute couture dress?
