Veronica's POV
"Mommy! I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to...!"
Brad crashed to the floor, his eyes fixed on the scattered ashes around him. His small face twisted with guilt—he'd tried to help but ruined everything instead.
"Master Brad!"
Ryan and the others stood paralyzed for a heartbeat before rushing forward, completely at a loss.
Daniel let out a heavy sigh, shaking his head at his little brother's accident.
I hurried over, my first instinct to check Brad for any injuries. Relief washed over me when I found none, but then my attention turned to the ashes spread across the ground.
Hot tears burned down my cheeks.
The pain in my chest was unbearable.
But how could I blame my own child? Brad was already breaking apart with remorse.
"I'm sorry, Mommy..."
I dropped to my knees and started gathering the ashes with my bare hands, each movement weighted with sorrow as I tried to return them to the urn.
