Lara leaned away from Curtis, and her mouth dropped open with shock.
What the hell just happened?
Did Curtis, arrogant, drunk with power, rude and powerful Curtis just kiss her?
Lara was unable to believe what just happened, and she just stared at him like he was a ghost. Curtis, who suddenly realised what he just did, cleared his throat and looked away.
His expression was cold and neutral, and he acted as if he didn't just act on impulse and kissed her.
Lara cleared her throat, wanting to see his eyes to know what he might be feeling. And to her utmost surprise, Curtis refused to look at her.
He turned around and started to walk away.
"Get some rest, Lara. You need it, for the sake of the babies," he said coolly, and his tone made Lara narrow her eyes at his retreating figure.
"Oh no. You won't be walking out on me. Look at me, Curtis Rodney," she snapped, her voice laced with an edge.
