Evelin's POV
I turned my head and spotted someone sitting in the chair beside my bed.
Jimmy.
The room sat in darkness, but enough moonlight streamed through the window for me to recognize his outline.
"Did you have a nightmare?" His voice drifted quietly through the shadows.
Relief washed over me as I flicked on the bedside lamp. Light flooded the space, revealing his face clearly.
"What are you doing in here?" I asked, eyes widening.
"I came by to deliver some documents, but you were already asleep," he explained. Jimmy remained seated, his gaze locked on my face with an intensity that made it seem like he could watch me like this endlessly.
Before, he'd seen me every day, held me close, kissed me, slept right next to me. Even while falling asleep, he'd clutch my hand, never releasing it.
I pressed my lips into a line. "So you got my room key from reception and just walked in?"
"I apologize," he said quietly.
