Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 - Transmigration

The beautiful blue moonlight shining in the sky, along with the twinkling stars, created a truly magical scene. The night breeze carried a strange scent that Liam had never smelled before.

From the downstairs window, Liam Tirarty realised that he was currently in a strange place, accompanied by a strange feeling that had been with him since he first woke up.

Glancing out at the cobbled street, he saw no one passing by. Confusion clouded his mind. Where was he, really?

"Who is he? And have I transmigrated into this person's body?" he asked himself in confusion as he stared at his reflection in the window pane.

He was currently living in a house in the Chapena district of Moran City, in the Kingdom of Norn. The culture of mysticism was deeply ingrained in this kingdom, not just as a belief, but as part of everyday life. And often, supernatural events occurred that ended tragically, claiming lives in a gruesome manner.

The cause of death was unknown, even to this day the police did not know the cause of the tragic death. In addition, there were also predictions about the coming of the apocalypse. No one knows when it will happen; there is no specific date, month, or year.

It has been an hour since Liam's soul transferred into the body of a twenty-year-old young man named ZaviActitus. In this simple two-storey house, with a total of seven rooms, Zavi lives with his mother, Mei Actitus, his older brother, Ren Actitus, and his younger sister, Isabelle Actitus. He was the second child in the family.

Since childhood, Zavi had been obsessed with prophecies about the apocalypse that had spread throughout the continent of Chynoria—especially in the Kingdom of Norn, the city of Moran, far from the dominion of the kingdom located in the far east near the sea. His deep curiosity had accidentally led him into the supernatural world.

His brother, Ren, knew this and repeatedly warned him to stop doing dangerous things. However, the two had different views: little Zavi believed in the prophecy, while his brother considered it to be nothing more than a story made up by those in power.

From that day on, Zavi no longer wanted to talk to his brother. And... As he grew older, at the age of 18, Zavi no longer believed in the absurd prophecy and began to recall his brother's words from nine years ago, exactly half a month after their father's death.

On the same date, 20 October 1543—the star calendar, Saturday, at exactly 8:15 a.m. Zavi committed suicide by stabbing his own heart with a knife.

Why did he do it? Because on Thursday, the 19th, he went with his friends to a place known to be sacred, in the Tezny district, and on Friday night he felt an uncomfortable sensation in his body.

Like the appearance of two black spots on his left and right wrists or neck, as well as a tingling sensation in both his hands and feet.

On Saturday morning, immediately after breakfast, the sensation became so intense that his body reached its limit, and Zavi stabbed his heart with a kitchen knife.

On that day, none of his family members knew about it. The death triggered Liam's soul to forcibly take over his body.

Currently, Liam is unable to speak after experiencing this strange incident. Upon waking up, he realised he had to hide the knife in his wardrobe because his brother was coming home with their mother.

"What's wrong, Zavi?" asked his sister with a wicked smile, continuing, "Are you heartbroken because a woman rejected you?"

His younger sister, Isabelle, was very mischievous towards him. Since childhood, she had hardly ever spoken to her eldest brother, Ren.

Liam turned around with a smile, took a step, and chose to entertain her for a moment. In the end, the two of them chased each other around the house for five minutes, causing their mother, who had been in her room, to come out.

"It's late! Aren't you both sleepy?" his mother whispered, rubbing her eyes.

They both stopped suddenly, while Isabelle dodged, blaming her brother for disturbing her.

Of course, Liam did not accept the accusation. He told his mother that this was all just a game that Isabelle was playing.

His mother smiled after hearing her son's words, she said softly, "Is Ren home yet?" She looked closely at her two children's faces.

Isabelle's previously cheerful expression turned gloomy. She walked up the stairs and entered her room.

Liam tilted his head after witnessing that. He didn't quite understand why Isabelle hated Ren so much.

Even in Zavi's memory, he couldn't find any clues about this information.

He sighed, looking at his mother's worried face.

"Just leave it! You'd better go back to sleep, Mum," Liam said softly, guiding his mother into her room.

Clack! The door closed. Meanwhile, Liam walked towards his room because there was some information he wanted to investigate. His room was located to the right of the living room.

He stood beside the door, closed it, and held a metal tray with two lit candles on it facing his face.

The wind blew in through the open window, forcing Liam to close it tightly. This time, the candle flames were stable and did not flicker like before.

He placed the tray on the cupboard in the right corner, and the candlelight illuminated the table in front of him. Liam sat in a chair, staring at a piece of paper while holding a pen in his right hand.

"So... what should I do?" he muttered softly.

"Strange predictions? Supernatural things? And how did I end up in this world?"

Liam was confused, not knowing what to do. But shortly after, he heard faint footsteps passing by his room.

His eyes widened. Liam immediately stood up, pushing his chair back. He slowly opened his bedroom door, staring at the door from a distance as he walked towards it.

"What is it, Ren? I'm curious, why didn't they all suspect anything when he left in the morning and only came home at night?"

The door slowly opened, accompanied by a faint creaking sound. From the doorway, Liam saw a man with black hair, his blue eyes showing fatigue, staring suspiciously at him.

He was Ren Actitus, his firstborn brother. Ren lowered the hood of his cloak and glanced at his younger brother's face before climbing the stairs.

Liam didn't know what was going on. He sighed, slightly annoyed that the door wasn't closed again. Finally, he reluctantly closed it and returned to his room.

Once in his room, he sat quietly, staring at the neatly arranged books on the table. One thing crossed Liam's mind, concerning Zavi's fragmented memories.

"That bastard is hiding something in his left hand. I'm sure he's hiding something from his family..." he muttered softly.

But unexpectedly, Liam heard a knock on the door to his right. Startled, he immediately stood up and opened it.

He saw his brother standing there with a weary and worried expression.

"Why are you here?" he asked coldly, staring at his brother's face.

Ren looked around every corner of the room, making sure there was nothing strange hidden inside. Suddenly, he grabbed his brother's shoulders with his cold hands.

"It's okay, but be careful!" After saying that, he left without explaining what he meant.

Liam, who heard that, immediately thought about it. But afterwards, he realised what it meant.

"Does he know that I'm not his real younger brother? It's impossible… I have to act like Zavi did before." Liam whispered in panic.

His heart was pounding, his breathing heavy as if he had just run from a wild animal. Liam closed the door again with a worried feeling. He sat back down in his chair and wrote something.

Five minutes later, he tore a sheet of paper from the book on which was written a plan for what he would do next.

He held it up and checked to see if there were any mistakes or errors. But no, he was satisfied with the plan. He stood up, walked to the left, towards the wardrobe.

The wardrobe door opened, and he slipped the paper into his coat pocket. Closing it, he walked towards the bed and was about to sleep, waiting for morning to come.

The sun had risen, its warm light shining on his house and the world. Liam was awake, currently in the bathroom showering and getting ready.

Meanwhile, from the kitchen, he heard the clatter of spatulas and pans, and he smelled something that made his stomach rumble.

Liam was in his room, wearing a shirt and long black trousers, just as Zavi liked. Earlier, he had been asked to wake up his younger sister and older brother, who were still asleep.

Because of his mother's request, a wild idea suddenly popped into his head. Liam wanted to make the two of them get along, because it would benefit him.

He was on the second floor, staring at his sister's door and sighing heavily afterwards. A knock on the door followed, and he said,

"Isabelle, are you awake? Hurry downstairs! Mum needs your help..."

Hearing the word "mum", Isabelle's eyes immediately opened wide, she got out of bed and quickly tidied her bed.

The door opened, and she appeared to be in a hurry, carrying a towel and a bucket containing bathing supplies. Isabelle went down the stairs to the bathroom, ignoring Liam's presence in front of her room.

"It's time to wake up that jerk..." she muttered irritably, and for some reason, she didn't like her brother either.

Ren's room was on the second floor, at the end of the hallway and still on the same floor as Isabelle's room at the front. Liam stood in front of the door, staring at it, and knocked five times.

Hearing no response, he had no choice but to ask directly. "Hey, Ren. Are you still asleep?"

Ten seconds later, Liam still heard no response from inside the room. The room was very quiet, with no signs of life inside.

Liam suddenly remembered Zavi's memory. He immediately forced the door open, and stumbled backwards afterwards.

"Huh, I almost fell!" Liam looked back and saw that the door was damaged. "Damn it! But is he gone?"

Confused, he scratched his head. He sighed, carried the damaged door downstairs, and was about to throw it away.

He walked towards the kitchen, seeing his mother and younger sister eating while chatting with each other. Not wanting to disturb them, Liam placed the door in the living room, sat on the sofa, and waited for them to finish breakfast.
