Todd had spent considerable time in Stormhaven, earning profits from stock trading, which gave him solid knowledge of the Noah Group. He'd definitely heard of Kevin Noah and grasped the Noah family's influential position in Stormhaven.
Under my gaze, which held back certain feelings, Todd rubbed his chin in contemplation. "If we're talking about him, throwing a punch or cracking his skull open would be pretty tough." Given his present circumstances, such moves would be reckless and might cause me more problems.
I dropped my eyes, feeling that familiar wave of inevitable letdown. I had to face it—for just a moment, I'd actually hoped for something different.
"However," Todd went on, his voice teasing, "I'm pretty sure I can get payback for you through other methods."
I gaped at him, my face showing pure amazement.
With an innocent blink, Todd asked, flashing a smile, "Are you looking at me like that because you doubt what I can do?"
