Steve was shocked.
He looked at Conrad.
"What?"
"You'll be the tenth?"
"Have you lost your mind?"
"Are you serious?"
Conrad smiled.
"Yeah."
"Because to open this cage system..."
"We also need a Bull's horn to damage the Bloodpit."
"And that can only be done when the Bulls reach the end point."
"Someone has to survive that whole path."
"I don't think all nine guys can do that."
"So..."
"I'll do it."
"I'll run for it."
"I'll reach the Bloodpit..."
"And lure some Bulls in."
"As soon as I destroy the cage..."
"You make the place move."
"And boom."
"All the Bulls..."
"Right in front of King Serloth."
Steve stayed silent.
Conrad continued.
"I also noticed something."
"When Amy died..."
"Serloth used all of his security around himself during the rampage."
"There were about one hundred guards."
"So..."
"I want you to gather one hundred people."
"They'll be deployed the moment the cage drops."
"Right behind Serloth's one hundred guards."
"They have to kill them..."
"In one knife strike."
"I know this won't work completely."
"But we'll still take down as many as we can."
"And then..."
"We let the hundred Bulls do the rest."
Steve found the plan incredibly impressive.
But...
It was also incredibly risky.
Not only for Conrad...
But for those hundred people as well.
Still...
He gathered them.
On Henry's name alone.
Many people in Bulltown were forever indebted to Henry.
Some even idolized him.
One by one...
They agreed to join Conrad's plan.
The next day...
Conrad deliberately stepped outside during the daytime.
Just so he would get caught.
Then...
At night...
Steve "captured" him and brought him before everyone.
Making it look completely real.
That way...
King Serloth wouldn't suspect a thing.
Soon...
The night of the 3112 Bulls Raid arrived.
All nine condemned men were already standing inside the cage.
Conrad...
Became the tenth.
King Serloth arrived.
So did the crowd.
Before everything began...
Steve quietly spread one message throughout the city.
"This..."
"Will be the last Bulls Raid."
"So stay alert."
"Because tonight..."
"Will be horrific."
The ten men were pushed into the cage.
Now...
They could only wait.
For the Bulls.
But to Conrad's surprise...
These weren't ordinary wild Bulls.
Their horns...
Were on fire.
Making them even more aggressive.
Even more deadly.
Then...
The raid began.
The Bulls charged.
One by one...
The men were impaled through their legs by the burning horns.
Some were torn completely in half.
Their blood only made the fire burn even brighter.
The Bulls gathered together...
Drinking every drop of blood they could.
That...
Was exactly what Conrad wanted.
Bulls were naturally attracted to red.
As they crowded around the bodies...
Everyone's attention shifted away from Conrad.
Quietly...
He began unplugging the hidden wires and bolts.
Exactly as Henry's notes had instructed.
Then...
He made his move toward the Bloodpit.
Halfway there...
He realized something.
He still needed a Bull with him.
Without a Bull's horn...
The Bloodpit couldn't be destroyed.
The problem was...
The Bulls were moving together in one massive group.
Attracting only one...
Would be nearly impossible.
But Conrad still tried.
He ripped off his outer clothes.
Underneath...
He was wearing a bright red vest.
Immediately...
Every Bull turned toward him.
Not one.
Not two.
Five.
At the exact same time.
Even the girls watching from the town couldn't help but notice him.
His muscular arms.
His veins popping out.
His bulky physique.
Some were completely mesmerized.
A few nearly fainted.
Now...
The spotlight belonged entirely to Conrad.
Not the other men.
Instead of attracting one Bull...
He attracted five.
There was only one kilometre left until the Bloodpit.
But those five Bulls would catch him long before he reached it.
Conrad closed his eyes.
He remembered everything Thomas had ever taught him.
His happiest memories.
His darkest memories.
Both emotions merged together.
Attack.
And defence.
Becoming one.
"The Fusion Star."
Boom.
The attack landed.
One Bull took the full force of the strike.
For a brief moment...
Its rage disappeared.
It almost looked...
Like it was crying.
But using Fusion Star drained an enormous amount of Conrad's energy.
He knew he couldn't keep using it.
So...
He grabbed one of the loose wires.
Wrapped it around his fist.
When Fusion Star struck the Bull...
The flames from its burning horns heated the wire until it became hotter than molten lava.
Conrad waited.
The Bull charged.
But then...
He froze.
It wasn't an ordinary Bull.
It was...
The very same Bull Henry had once tamed.
The oldest.
The strongest.
The most experienced of them all.
Conrad struck with the burning wire.
Nothing happened.
The Bull drove one of its horns straight into Conrad's shoulder.
Blood poured down his arm.
Ignoring the pain...
Conrad prepared to strike again.
But then...
Something shocked him.
The Bull wasn't angry.
It looked...
Relieved.
Almost happy.
As if...
It saw someone inside Conrad.
Henry.
Instead of attacking him...
The Bull turned around.
It charged toward the other Bulls.
Trying to stop them from reaching Conrad.
Against impossible odds...
It held them back.
Until...
Another Bull drove its horn straight through its skull.
The legendary Bull collapsed.
Dead.
But because of its sacrifice...
Conrad safely reached the Bloodpit.
There was only one problem left.
He still needed a Bull's horn.
Almost immediately...
Three furious Bulls came charging after him.
Conrad reached the Bloodpit.
The three Bulls arrived moments later.
Then...
For the first time since Henry's final battle...
The Bloodpit sealed itself shut once again.
Whatever happened inside...
Nobody could see.
