"In our first corner, he's a man with a plan, rules, and a legacy! Two engine legs revved for the competition, give it up for Class 1-A … TENYA IIDA!" Iida walked to the stage at a moderate pace, not too fast or slow, he needed to be respectable for the audience. The gear graciously provided by Hatsumei was comfortable enough, almost like putting on his own hero costume. Such a diligent student, he expected nothing less from a dedicated hard working woman such as herself.
"And on the other side, we have an engineer said to blow up her lab on the daily!" She did what now? "A mechanized destroyer, shout out to Class 1-G … MEI HATSUME!" The girl came onto the stage with a large bag of equipment, likely for versatility purposes, kissing and waving to the crowd above. A bit overdone, but it was nothing truly harmful.
"Hold it, you can't be wearing that!" Midnight pointed to his belt gear. "You may only wear gear if it is specifically required for quirk function!"
"My opponent offered me to wear the gear she specifically designed for this match!" Iida defended, both for his honor and the girl in the support course. "She may be in a different course from me, but she insisted on this being as even a match as possible! I was moved by such sportsmanship I couldn't resist! I humbly request that you let us continue as we are!"
"... Such beautiful romance between young ones, it warms my heart!" Wait, that's not what this was at all. "I'll allow it this once, you beautiful couple you!" Hatsumei, back him up!
"That's right! Everyone's going to see our babies in action!" CHOOSE YOUR WORDS BETTER!
"Now then competitors … on your marks!" He could worry about his image later. Right now he had more important things to focus on, winning this tournament, for the Iida name! "Get set …" His hand hovered over the activation button. "And begin!" And with a press, he was off!
"I bet you love how much faster my equipment makes you, right Iida?" Of course he did, he felt like he was walking on air. "Probably feel as light as a feather too!" Wait, her voice was being broadcasted across the stadium. Was she wearing speakers?
"What the, we're being hijacked! Eraser Head, back me up!"
"So I won't have to do commentary until she's done … sleep it is." Their teacher both filled him with immense pride and disappointment on a daily basis.
"Of course, speed is an obstacle that can be easily avoided with my hydraulic attachments!!" She released two metal rods from her belt and lifted herself off the ground, making him trip and stumble when he missed his mark.
"Dang it, going overboard." How was he supposed to turn!?
"And check out that sweet ability to auto avoid dangerous obstacles." Iida's body was forced to make a u turn. Suddenly he felt very cornered despite the open space. "And let me show you how my net gun works!" He envied Suzuki's ability to avoid danger, because he DESPERATELY needed it now.

Yagi used this time to walk out, seeing as this match would take a while, and now moved on to talk with some visiting pros. "So, Jeanist, thoughts?" He asked the man on the students that had been seen all day, displaying immense talent in his opinion.
"Hm, I've taken note of Katsuki Bakugo's rage. Seems like something that needs to be culled before it gets out of hand."
"I don't know, it seems kinda fun." Miriko smirked. "I could teach him how to focus it out on the villains rather than civilians, fight with anger instead of just suppression."
"He seems too loud. I'm not sure if I could work with him." Edgshot looked over. "The Suzuki boy seems interesting. Very agile and maneuverable, and without using the aid of a quirk too. A little polish and he could probably keep up with me in a year or two." His successor had made an impression! Young Suzuki has gone beyond, just as he said he would.
"I think we're focusing on the big dogs too much." Hawks shrugged. "Some of the more niche quirks could come in real handy. Like that Shinso kid, I would love to have him take out some villains with just a chat, less work for me." True, although the Entrance Exam wasn't for everyone, it didn't mean those that failed couldn't be heroes.
"Wash! Wash! Scrub! Bubbles!" Of course Wash, very insightful.
"Truly a wonderful batch of many good students this year, let us bask in the joy of it all." Crust spoke, a bit overzealous, but his heart was in a good place.
"Only my son has any real potential to win." Enji spoke up disdainfully. "The rest are just obstacles for him to overcome."
"Yeah, cept said son has come third in every event before the tournament." Miriko couldn't help but antagonize the fiery pro. "A step down from always being number two."
"He's just in a rebellious phase, once he sees his actions will accomplish nothing, he'll stop holding back. It's better than the one quirkless kid getting by on luck." Toshinori felt the need to step in.
"It's not luck." Edgshot spoke for him before All Might had the chance. "Those are pure survival instincts, I noticed it from the moment the race began. The kid knows what he's doing." He wanted to agree on that last part, but he couldn't...not fully at least.
"Pure instinct? That sounds fun" Miriko laughed. "Wonder how much crazy the kid has packed away in that little head of his." The lady had NO idea what she was asking for. The kid needed a therapist quickly and pronto. Was Hound Dog available outside of school hours?
"So another question pops into my head." Spoke up Gang Orca, who had been mostly quiet. "What do we do when we see support students with enough potential to beat hero students with nothing but gear?"
"We pray to god they stay on our side." Hawks laughed as Iida was being dragged around the stage by a net and what looked like an overcomplicated fishing pole. "Or just be smart to not be living advertisements." Maybe he should get up with David, he would love to work with a kid this natural.

Ms Iida watched her son flying in the air through the use of two gauntlets that clicked onto his body. The boy was being humiliated, and with that in mind, she used it to try and hold back the feeling of humor. "Haha, hi-his earnest nature finally got the better of him, hasn't it?"
"Indeed it has, indeed it has." Her husband was less subtle in holding back his amusement. "It's entertaining all the same. Maybe this'll get him to relax just a little afterwards."
"Maybe, maybe- snort -it will." The boy always has been a bit tense. He tried to live up to this 'excellence' and perfection he thought the family had. But they were just that, a family first. Love and laughter all around. "I just hope he properly introduces his new girlfriend to us." That was half a joke. She'd love to see this Hatsumei girl around.
"That'll depend on whether or not he doesn't scare away the girl afterwards."
"Oh I can see the look in her eyes." She pointed to the screen, where the girl was hovering while spinning their son like a top. "She's absolutely invested and insane … she has no conventional fears of a commanding man." She turned and smiled. "Just like me, I suppose."
She still loved the way her husband still blushed after all this time. "I just wish Tensei was here to see this. He could use a break from commanding all those sidekicks."
"Yeah, sadly he's stuck in Hosu at the moment. He mentioned he finally got a lead on some vigilante-gone-killer" She just hoped he was doing his best to be safe. "Oh, would you look at that, she's bringing out a chainsaw."

"Impressive gardening tools, I should really try and buy them some time." Sullivan muttered as he filmed the event below him. Camouflaged of course, since a flying man would normally be super suspicious, well one that wasn't a hero, because you apparently needed a piece of plastic to use quirks. Made him all the more glad to be a demon.
Kids were getting crazier every generation. Stronger, smarter, always expanding on the wonderful worlds they lived in. That's what made them so amazing in his eyes after all. He could see why his precious grandson admired quirks all his life! Oh, if only he could've brought him and his mother here so they could've watched it together as a family, but Izuku-kun was studying for Terminus with all his friends this week.
Not to mention Inko wouldn't have been too happy seeing that Bakugo child blasting through the competition. A really remarkable kid in all honesty, fast, smart, brutal … very brutal. He knows what the boy has done is bad, but Sullivan was a fair believer in redemption and second chances. For the exception of Aldera, that place would die very soon.
Maybe he should edit out anything with Bakugo in it just so Izuku-kun would feel a little more at ease. Besides, he knew that his darling grandson would've loved to see the Suzuki boy trample the competition without even using a quirk once! It would've given Izuku-kun a good confidence boost at the very least.
Now he had to keep filming so he could see his adorable grandson smile at all the hard work he put into this, and all the amazing quirks he could study. Oh how it was so perfect! His plan with Nedzu for Class 1-A and the Misfits was sure to go off without a hitch!

"And … that's it." Hatsumei shook her bag to make sure, but she has indeed shown off every baby she had, and even ran down the battery on the booster she made for legs. "All out of Babies."
"Alright then … so you plan to fight me seriously now." Legs spoke, getting up wobbly and shaken. "With honor and dignity?"
"No, I already got what I wanted from you." She took a step over the boundary. "I'm done for today."
"Hatsumei Mei is out of bounds...I guess. The winner is Iida Tenya." Midnight waved the whip.
"YOU FIEND!" The boy shouted. "YOU USED ME FOR ADVERTISEMENT ONLY AND LEFT ME IN THE DUST!"
"Sorry not sorry. I think that's how the expression goes?" Culture of memes was always so confusing to her. "You won, so take it, we both get what we want anyways."
"I TRUSTED YOU, YOU MANIACAL MECHANICAL MENACE!"
"Aw, that's sweet! Thanks!" It was always nice when people gave her compliments like that. "Your legs are nice too, they really drive me wild!" Seriously, citric acid fuel tanks? That biotech was outstanding.
