Krysta's POV
The pack territory takes my breath away. Nathan guides me through winding paths, pointing out areas where children play during warmer months, trails that snake toward the frozen lake, and spots offering stunning views of snow-dusted peaks. With each step, Sophia grows more restless inside my mind, her excitement building as she tastes the crisp northern air through my senses.
Her whimpering fills my thoughts. She's desperate to stretch her legs, to feel snow beneath her paws for the first time. The cool mountain air caresses my face, and I can't help but smile at the familiar sensation of northern winter approaching.
"You're fighting her pretty hard," Nathan observes, clearly sensing Sophia's growing agitation through our bond. "Why not let her run?"
My eyes narrow. "Planning to give us some alone time?"
"Not a chance. Trust goes both ways, Krystal."
"Then absolutely not."
