I had no clue what Andre had planned when he kept driving in complete silence. His jawline was carved from stone, eyes fixed ahead like the road held all the answers in the world. But whatever I expected, it definitely wasn't this.
A fortress masquerading as a home.
Not just any mansion, but something that belonged in a fairy tale or perhaps a cautionary story. Towering iron gates swung open the moment we approached, as if they recognized him. The driveway seemed endless, winding through manicured grounds that made me feel like we were crossing into a different universe entirely. At the end of it all stood a structure so magnificent and imposing it stole my breath.
Andre pulled straight into an enormous garage without a word or sideways glance. He simply climbed out, moved to the backseat, and lifted Gavin with the kind of tenderness you'd reserve for spun glass.
