Chapter 14 - Despicable Conor

"I assumed you had already departed." George felt enraged with Katrina. He had not yet figured out why she needed to come back.

"Please allow me to sit down before you sentence me to death.

Although I am aware that you would prefer not to see me again, I promise not to waste your time. I will just get right to the point without holding back." Katrina guaranteed.

Her approach was well-articulated and highly emotional. The mood George saw in her was unlike anything he had ever seen.

George panted. He allowed Katrina to sit down. He was unable to scream due to his heart condition.

"You had better start using the exit door if you are here to insult me once more." He turned his face to the wall and warned Katrina.

He is already enraged by Katrina's presence. It might as well get worse if he stares into her face.

He figured that avoiding Katrina might help quell the rage that was building inside of him.

"I get the impression from it that you do not want me around. You simply want me to leave right away." Katrina lamented. She was unable to cope with George's rejection.

George drew his eyes closer to Katrina. "Isn't it obvious? The humiliation from your last visit is still fresh in my mind."

"Are you certain you want to talk to me in that manner? Perhaps you should just consider what you just said." Katrina sneered. In a matter of minutes, she transformed from a sheep to a wildcat.

Knowing that Katrina was not the same person who had entered the ward just moments before, George was shocked to notice a different sparkle in her.

George was not up for any of her drama, despite her belief that it would make him laugh. His sole concern was to discover what she was hinting at.

"Now pay attention to me, lady. I might as well call the doctor to expel you from this hospital permanently if you continue to pace around silently like a lost soul." George lost his cool as he threatened Katrina. He just couldn't keep up with her silence anymore.

Katrina pleaded, "If something bad happens to you, I would rather not be held accountable."

The fact that George was not even grinning at her gave the impression that she was making fun of him.

His teeth gnawed in frustration, his face hard as a rock.

"If you still feel like it, you might want to speak politely to me. Or perhaps you ought to treat me with the highest regard that I merit." Katrina demanded.

Even though it was a simple question, George had a hard time answering.

Back at George's mansion, Anita is finding it difficult to stay. She hated the fact that Conor deserted her to go speak with Kelly.

"You clearly do not even want me around, so why are you pleading with me to stay? Was it your intention to insult me by bringing me to your home?" She unleashed her anger on Conor.

"That is what happened. There was a loud knock on the door, and I had to come right away. I simply could not keep ignoring it for long." Conor clarified. He continued to hold on to her bag to keep her by his side.

"The worst excuse you could have made was this. I thought you were more intelligent than this." It took Anita a moment to speak.

She was disappointed that Conor could still have the nerve to come up with a silly excuse after keeping her waiting for nearly an eternity.

She went on after some time. "So, what do you advise me to do right now? Because of you, I am not

feeling the same way anymore." With her arms crossed, Anita posed the question.

Knowing how much money she usually made after making love, she was eager to stay, but she was also desperate to leave.

"Getting you back into the mood does not bother me. My body still yearns for yours, as you can see if you have inner eyes." Conor shared his intentions towards Anita.

He made Anita understand that he wasn't done with her.

"I cannot tell what is going to happen to me when you leave," he begged.

He no longer remembered his father, and he no longer felt Kelly's presence.

"I will permanently leave your life if you ever try this shit with me again," Anita eventually agreed.

She made her decision quickly and without much thought.

Even though she knew what she had to do, she chose to project toughness to avoid being called a cheap whore.

Just before they left, Kelly drew Conor away. "I am shocked that you are simply going to leave me like that. I am still here. Before the gold digger showed up and ruined everything, you were really nervous to hear me speak."

Anita turned back to yell at Kelly. "Did you just call me a gold digger, or was it my hallucinations? How dare you?"

"I cannot remember saying anyone's name," Kelly responded icily.

"You can wear the cap if you feel it fits you." He turned his gaze away to act as if he had said nothing.

"Did you hear that? What are you going to do about it?" Wishing Conor would stand up for her, Anita bemoaned to him.

"And you called me a nobody. I suppose that puts us on even ground," Kelly retorted. He's never out of responses.

Conor stayed composed as the drama played out.

His motivation for remaining silent was his knowledge that the judgment would somehow come back to haunt him.

He wished Anita had stayed behind, just as he would have loved to know what had happened to his father.

"I am still waiting on you, Conor, to say something. I will leave and never come back if you do not kick this miserable creature out of here right now," Anita threatened.

Conor is put in a challenging situation where he struggles to make his own decision because of her threat.

After several minutes, he is still unable to speak and is stumbling over his words.

He was afraid of what would happen if he said what he wanted to say. The last thing he wants is to get into another mess.

"Time is up!

I am going." Anita decided on Conor's behalf.

"I can no longer handle this." She got the answers she needed just by the silence.

"Anita. Do not abandon me, please. I will kill myself," Conor begged Anita to stay behind.

He did not chase her as he had done the first time. Instead, he chose to remain and apologize.

Sadly for him, it was insufficient to prevent Anita from going.

"I am so glad she is no longer there."

With a sigh, Conor made a cross sign when Anita left. His relief was greater than anything else.

Since he might need her services soon, he was afraid to tell her that he wanted to leave.

Conor failed to compensate Anita for their sexual encounter. This enables him to spend less time, money, and effort on her.

"She is now gone.

You had better get on the phone," Conor said eagerly as he turned back to Kelly.

Kelly clarified, "Shortly after the intense argument between you two, your father suffered a heart attack."

"I am only now learning that my father had a heart attack. Why didn't anyone tell me?' Conor fumed. He was so angry with Kelly that he almost drowned him in his saliva.

"Your father is not involved in this. He is currently in the hospital. The doctor asked a family member to be present before starting the full course of treatment," Kelly continued.

"And my father suggested that I come over with you?" Licking his lips, Conor grinned.

Kelly found his actions a little confusing—that Conor could still smile in such a state. He thought Conor would feel guilty or cry.

"Yes," Kelly said, "your father insisted that I come to get you."

"Are you not satisfied?" Kelly asked. "What is the reason behind your smile? Shouldn't you be sober?"
