Chapter 34 - Chapter 34 The Birth of Mysterio

From the other party's reaction, Nathan Hawke also realized that the Miss America in front of him must be from a timeline after Doctor Strange 2.

No wonder she kept muttering about the Avengers — and the Sanctum.

"Ding, ding."Nathan Hawke heard the notification sound coming from the desk and said to the three, "Come with me."

Umbrella Corporation's Secret Research Division

Zhan Ji Lingma and Cruz were standing before the group, explaining,"Based on the spatial fluctuations emitted by the wormhole, as well as the readings when Miss Chavez appeared, Dr. Cruz and I plan to develop a reaction ring and earrings that can emit unstable energy waves. When worn, these will interfere with any attempt to lock onto your spatial coordinates."

"The only downside," Lingma added with a smile, "is that their effectiveness lasts only a year — but don't worry, we've designed plenty of beautiful styles for replacements."

"Thank you! Thank you so much!"Miss America stood up excitedly and thanked everyone present. If possible, she really didn't want to go back to any sanctuary — every time she did, people died.

At the same time, she felt a pang of sadness in her heart — more than ever, she longed to fully control her own powers.

The Miss America pageant was officially over.

Inside the Umbrella Research Facility

Nathan Hawke stared at the reports on the screen — research data on the Three Divine Artifacts' bloodlines, the T-Virus, and the G-Virus. His brows furrowed deeply. These were among Umbrella's most critical research projects, dealing with the boundaries of human genetics and biotechnology. He knew these studies could lead to tremendous scientific progress — but also unimaginable risk and ethical controversy.

"How's it going over there?" Nathan asked, turning to Wesker, who appeared like a phantom.

"Surprisingly easy to handle," Wesker replied coldly.

"Good. Keep monitoring them. Make sure none of our top research data leaks."

"Understood." Wesker vanished like a ghost.

At the same time, Lingma and Cruz exchanged a knowing glance.

Lingma handed another report to Nathan."Boss, this is our latest study on the bloodlines of the Three Divine Artifacts. We've discovered that they may carry a unique genetic sequence capable of unlocking extraordinary powers. We're currently trying to decode it — to apply it in the cloning project."

Cruz's eyes gleamed with pride as he presented his findings."Mr. Hawke, I'm honored to report that we've achieved a breakthrough in human genetics. Through precise gene modification, we've successfully enhanced certain human traits — strength, speed, endurance. This could massively boost human evolution and combat ability. However, we must also consider the moral and ethical implications to ensure safety and control."

Nathan listened quietly, weighing the potential and danger of their work.

Lingma passed over another file."As for the G-Virus, we've conducted an in-depth analysis of its effects on human genes. It's highly mutable and infectious, capable of restructuring human cells and creating mutant lifeforms. We've isolated the virus genome and are studying its mechanisms to find ways to control it. Ideally, we'll develop a treatment and safely integrate it into cloned humans."

Cruz added,"And regarding the T-Virus — we've made major progress there as well. The T-Virus alters human genes and physiology, with strong adaptability and infectivity. Our focus is on understanding its influence on gene expression and creating antiviral countermeasures. With enough research, we may even discover new methods to regulate human genetics. Meanwhile, the ABC-series bio-weapons are becoming more stable, and the weapons division is customizing armaments for the Tyrant units."

"Excellent," Nathan said, clapping his hands."Then the cloning, the bloodlines of the Three Artifacts, and the virus integration — all of that is yours to handle."

Lingma pushed his glasses up, his eyes flashing."Boss, if we succeed — if we clone a being carrying the Three Artifact bloodlines and the G-Virus — will we even be able to control it? Its power could be unimaginable."

Cruz trembled with excitement. After all, this was research akin to creating a god.

And when he thought of "creating a god," a face flashed through his mind — a man Nathan Hawke had summoned. Cruz had only ever seen his photo, never in person.

Sephiroth.

Nathan Hawke himself was eagerly awaiting that arrival.

"By the way," Nathan asked suddenly, "what's John Walker up to these days?"

Lingma smirked."Oh, he's out there… doing heroic deeds."

Weapons Research and Development Department

In the R&D wing, Beck's team was hard at work when Beck clapped his hands loudly to get everyone's attention.

"Everyone, we've got a new assignment. Unfortunately, the mission to acquire the Kamen Rider Duke equipment has been handed to another squad."

He raised a brow and continued,"Instead, we've been given a far more challenging task — to create a new superhero. A high-tech superhero."

The team members looked slightly disappointed; they had hoped to be involved with the Kamen Rider Duke project. But creating a new hero — that was a formidable challenge.

Beck chuckled and continued,"I know this came out of nowhere, but I believe we're the right team for the job. We're Umbrella's top R&D unit, with cutting-edge tech and creative minds. We will build a real superhero."

He grinned. "And the pay is very generous."

At that, everyone's eyes lit up.

"So, boss," one of his longtime teammates said, "you're finally going to use that holographic tech you designed back when you worked for Stark Industries?"

"Exactly." Beck snapped his fingers with a sly smile."Though now, we'll call it… Illusion Tech."

A female designer in the team asked,"Boss, you've already got the name and backstory ready for this hero, haven't you?"

Beck nodded confidently, spreading his arms wide.

"I call this superhero—Mysterio."
