Alex's tone was calm, almost indifferent, as he stepped straight into the crimson vortex.
He had been looking for a chance to act solo anyway!
Seeing Alex leave, Jasper's face instantly twisted with disdain and annoyance. "Pretending to be tough? Who does he think he is?"
"Jasper! Why would you say that?!" Chloe shouted, her face flushed with anger.
Seeing Chloe genuinely upset, Jasper quickly switched to a fawning smile. "Chloe, don't be mad. I'll help you hunt even more Crimson Bull Soldiers. Bringing a pretty boy along would just drag us down, wouldn't it?"
"He is NOT a pretty boy! Watch your mouth!"
Chloe glared at him one last time, then turned and stomped into the vortex.
Seeing Chloe leave, Jasper turned his gaze to Lila. "Lila, how about I carry you then?"
"No thanks. I can't afford to climb so high~"
