Chapter 17 - Survive.

Satan began charging at me like a bull, his eyes locked on me.

I quickly readied myself, but before I could even react, his giant fist was directly at my face.

The blow landed, and I was sent flying back. With a loud crash, I was embedded directly inside a wall.

I could already feel cracks forming, and my vision was becoming blurry. I got out from the wall and landed on my knees.

"Is that all you got, insect? I must say, I'm quite disappointed," Satan boasted to me.

Getting up, I felt something touch my shoulder and whisper something from behind me.

"Heal." A female voice spoke; it carried a warmth that almost reminded me of my mother.

Great, the voice was back. But that got me thinking—how can I heal? My knowledge of how magic works here is quite limited, so I don't have much to go off.

Then my mind went back to the moment I released a ball of white energy. If making that happen used my energy and releasing it, then maybe I could do the opposite.

If I spread the energy around myself, maybe that would trigger.

With nothing to lose, I rooted my feet firmly into the ground and began gathering energy from within me again, but this time, instead of releasing it, I began spreading it across my body.

This took a few seconds until I felt it—the cracks were beginning to heal, and I felt the dizziness disappear.

But as soon as I healed, a looming figure was right in front of me.

"Nice trick." And faster than I could react, Satan swatted me with his left hand, sending me flying.

Though this time I was prepared. Opening my wings, I was able to slow myself down and avoid hitting the wall.

I looked ahead to see where Satan was, but I couldn't find him. Suddenly, a shadow from above seemed to be growing larger and larger. I quickly looked up and saw Satan getting closer to the ground.

I tried to move away but found myself stuck to the ground. I looked down and saw red chains locking my legs in place.

And before I could cut them, Satan's fist landed directly on me, and with a loud crash, it created a huge crater with me in the middle.

Satan pulled his fist away, revealing me with numerous cracks forming once more. I tried to heal, but as soon as I finished healing, another fist would land, and I would have to do so all over again.

This lasted for a minute before Satan got annoyed and grabbed me from the crater. He threw me into the air with so much force it broke the sound barrier, creating a deafening boom.

The demons watching covered their ears on instinct, and this caused me to feel sick in the stomach for the first time.

I tried to use my wings to steady myself, but Satan wouldn't let that happen. He flew quickly at me and began to shoot fire at me.

The burst of flames covered my entire body, and I was enveloped in flame. But Satan made a fatal mistake—I was fireproof.

Using the flame as cover and moving quickly, I gathered more energy, and once I had enough, I released it. A large ball of white energy hurled itself into Satan, dazing him for a second, but that was all I needed.

I used the pistol I was given, and aiming for his eyes, I was able to blind him even more. Though they didn't pierce, thanks to this, I was able to adjust myself using my wings, and using them, I dashed directly for his face.

Satan quickly composed himself from the attack and saw me diving directly toward him.

A wide grin appeared on his face, and using his right fist, he threw a punch at me. Not wanting to get hit, I used my nail to avoid the punch by hitting his fist and moving myself to the side.

Once I was close enough, I grabbed my lantern. It immediately began glowing, and in an instant, a blinding white light filled the entire room.

Satan closed his eyes to shield them from the flash. Once he was blinded, I landed on his head and ran down it to reach his face.

Satan opened his eyes and saw me with my nail already in motion. I drove my nail directly into his left eye, and he began to scream.

He quickly moved his arms and grabbed me, and with one quick motion, he threw me to the center of the room with so much force that when I landed, there were small flames on the floor.

I tried to get up, but I was quickly halted by a relentless barrage of punches.

Each punch was devastating. Each punch cracked my shell. Each punch aimed to kill.

"HOW DARE YOU! I AM THE RULER OF WRATH! THE SIN OF WRATH! I AM SATAN!" he said, continuing to punch me.

My body was about to give. I couldn't heal fast enough to escape. I couldn't think of a way to get away. Is this how I die again?

As Satan continued his relentless barrage, he stopped for a moment and began to raise his right fist to the air.

It began glowing and burning with enough heat to make the room feel hotter.

And with one word, Satan spoke.

"DIE!" He threw his fist directly toward me, and I just stared at it.

I guess this is the end. Well, at least I finished my mission. I wonder where I'll return.

His fist crashed into me, and the moment it landed, a giant explosion happened, sending a shockwave of destruction.

Before too much damage happened, the bee and purple demon created a barrier around us to minimize the damage.

I already accepted my fate and just hoped it didn't hurt. But as I opened my eyes, I wasn't in the void—no, I was still on the ground with my broken shell.

I looked up at Satan to see what had happened, but the moment I looked up, I saw a man wearing white clothing with red accents. He was holding a staff with an apple at the end and, with his other arm, holding back Satan's fist.

"So you must be Charlie's friend? What's your name again... Oh yes, Mr. knight."

Charlie... She finally woke up. I guess I'm saved. But I need a nap.

I quickly passed out, feeling my entire body racked with pain. I should thank him for saving me, but I'm too tired for that.
