"We are gathered here today to determine the fate of this... insect, for the kidnapping of our dear niece," Satan says, looking at me.
"Can we get this over with already? I need to get back to scami— I mean, making money," the green clown replied.
"Shut up, Mam. Look, I know we all want to get this over with, but we need to make sure the accused is properly taken care of... I mean, just look at him. I think that's a child."
"I agree with you, Bee. As much as we would love to turn the little guy into a pancake, I would much rather know what happened."
"Asmodeus, always backing Bee. I wish you would defend me like that when we were dating."
"Not now, Levy," he said, looking a bit annoyed.
"Oh really? And when is a good time? Because every time I try to talk, you'd be off somewhere making your little toys!" the two-headed fish replied.
"Can you guys keep it down... I'm tryinggggg..." the sheep said before falling back to sleep.
"Enough! We will begin the trial now! So stop bickering!" Satan said, standing and flaring his wings.
"Hmm, whatever," the fish girl said.
"Finally. Now, we will begin by asking a few questions to the accused. First off, how do you plead, insect?" Satan said to me with disdain.
Looking around, all eyes were directed at me. With no choice but to speak, I opened my mouth and revealed rows of needle-like teeth.
This caused the demons watching to either reel back in disgust or seem more intrigued than anything.
"Disgusting creature! Let us kill it already and be done with it," a bird demon said, standing across the room from the others.
"Yes, it would do Hell justice to extinguish such a horrid thing."
When I turned my head, I noticed a bunch of birds that seemed to be wearing rather expensive clothing and looked really important.
I ignored their comments and took a deep breath before speaking.
"Not guilty, Lord Satan," I said in a deep, gravelly voice.
"Very well. Then we shall begin the trial now."
"Woah, his voice is kinda hot," the bee said to herself.
"To begin, state your name, insect."
"My name is Stygian."
"What were you doing with my niece in the desert? Either give a proper explanation or die," Satan threatened me.
This guy was way too intense for a trial, but left with no choice, I explained what happened.
"I was heading towards the train station to go to the Pride Ring to study, but I saw a carriage being raided by a bunch of bandits. I saw them kidnapping someone, and with nothing much to consider, I quickly killed the bandits and saved Princess Charlie."
He studied me, looking for any indication of me lying, but couldn't find one.
"You seem to be telling the truth— or at least, that's what you believe. Now, how did you kill these bandits? Someone of your stature shouldn't be able to harm a fully grown imp," he said, waiting for a reply.
"I used a pistol to quickly kill them, but unfortunately I lost that weapon since I had to drop my bag when I was running from cannibals."
"Ahh, cannibals... they have been annoying to deal with, always arriving like a tide to eat whatever moves. But to test your skill, we would like a demonstration."
He snapped his fingers, and a six-shooter appeared in front of me. It had an intricate red design over it and a silver tip at the end.
"What you have there is an angelic pistol. It can kill even the strongest of demons. But tread lightly— if you even think of shooting us, you'll find your skull cracked," he said with a huff of smoke coming out of his nose.
He snapped his fingers once more and summoned a demonic dog with two heads. It was the same dog I saw earlier, and it looked even hungrier than before.
"To test your skill, you will kill this beast with only the six shots you have. And if you don't... well, he gets a snack."
The chains restraining the dog began to snap open, allowing the beast to escape. It looked around its surroundings, and its eyes landed on me.
It quickly ran toward me, wanting to eat me, so getting ready, I waited for the beast to get closer to have a better shot to ensure I ended its suffering.
It jumped into the air, aiming itself toward me. Once it was close enough, I fired two shots into both its heads. While in the air, the bullets penetrated its skulls and destroyed their brains.
It landed with a loud thud and lay limp on the ground, unmoving. It slowly began to turn into a black ooze and sink into the ground.
I turned to face Satan, and he seemed to look pleased.
"Well done. I must commend you for your skill, and as a gift, you may keep that weapon. Now, I have one final question for you."
I stood there, waiting for his question and wondering what more he needed.
"How strong are you?" he asked with a serious face.
Really? That's his last question? Well, no point lying now.
"I'd say I'm pretty strong for my size. Before I got here, I killed a dragon named Dracni— and he was pretty strong."
Satan smiled, and with a snap of his finger, the courtroom suddenly became much, much larger.
It looked more like an arena than anything.
Satan stood up from his throne and jumped down to the ground. He landed with a crash, cracking the floor and causing the building to shake.
I stood up, a wide smile on my face. Great... just great.
"For your final trial, insect, you have to beat me!" he said with a wide, demonic smile on his face.
He snapped his fingers, and my weapon and lamp were returned.
"Now show me what you've got!"
Charlie... you better wake up soon, or I'm dying for a third time again.
