Chapter 19 - Introduction.

I slowly opened my eyes and saw that I was back underwater in the void. Moving quickly, I swam up and grabbed the surface of the water.

Pulling myself up, I saw the clone of myself waiting for me. I approached it, and it began to roar.

But I didn't have time for this. I rushed in, and grabbing my nail, I aimed for its head—but to my surprise, it was able to dodge my strike.

It moved its body to the side and took a wide swing with one of its tentacles, aiming for my chest.

I laid flat on the ground to dodge the strike, and using my new power, I shot a blast of energy at it.

That seemed to have caused serious damage since its body began to show cracks forming, so not wasting time, I rushed him, hoping to end the fight.

But it did something I didn't expect—it flew high into the air where I couldn't reach it with my nail. Shortly after, it was now way out of my reach, even with my power.

Thinking of what to do, I felt something on my hip—it was the six-shooter Satan gave me. So, with not much thought, I grabbed the gun and aimed at the sky, waiting for it to do something.

I waited for a few seconds before I noticed something. It was the clone—it was falling… like falling really fast, like a meteor. It was falling straight at me.

Aiming for the clone, I shot all six bullets at it, but every shot seemed to disappear the moment they made contact.

Not wanting to get hit, I moved to the side, narrowly dodging the banzai attack from the clone.

When it landed, a massive explosion made of shadow and light surrounded it, shaking the very water I was standing on.

I guess I can do that as well.

But there was no time to think. The clone looked around, scanning for me, so while it didn't know where I was, I rushed in.

Using my speed, I readied my nail to stab it in the head. Even though the clone was already moving to dodge the strike, I had accounted for when it would.

So, while still moving and the clone was dodging to the side, I threw my nail directly into its head, embedding it in its skull.

It screeched in pain before exploding into black particles and quickly moving into me once more.

I felt my strength increasing once more, almost feeling twice as strong.

Then I felt something move from the direction of the clone. I looked toward it and saw my nail glowing bright before it slowly changed, revealing the design had changed.

The color had changed from gray to white. It had a black point in the middle of it.

So, moving forward, I picked it up and walked toward the portal to come back to the living… no, to go back to Hell.

Waking up, I looked around and saw I was now inside a fairly large room. It looked like something out of a fairy tale, as everything looked really fancy.

But the most notable part of the room wasn't the design—it was the man who saved me, sitting on a chair with a desk in front of him.

He was muttering something I couldn't quite hear, but I swear he said something about Charlie.

So, getting up, I approached the man slowly. He noticed something and quickly turned his head in my direction. I saw his face was quite similar to Charlie's—he had red cheeks on his face and the same pale complexion as her.

As I continued to look at him, the silence between us got really… awkward. So, hoping to break the silence, I spoke.

"Uh… hi," I said nervously while giving a small wave.

He continued to stare at me before his face turned to pure joy, and he hugged me.

"Oh my Dad! I thought I accidentally killed you! Oh, Charlie's gonna be so happy!" he said, hugging me with so much force that my body seemed to start cracking.

He noticed this immediately and dropped me.

"Oh, I'm so sorry about that, little knight! Here, let me fix that." He then placed his hand on my head, and I felt something entering my body.

It began to heal the cracks and even made me feel a bit lighter.

"There, all fixed!" he said with a massive grin.

"Thank you," I said, bowing to him.

"Oh, no need for bows. It is an honor to finally meet you… Mr. Knight," he said with a grin.

"It is also an honor meeting you…" I looked at him, not really knowing his name.

"Lucifer Morningstar, at your service."

"You're Charlie's dad?"

"The one and only! Oh, speaking of Charlie, she's been crying all day. Not even my sweet Lilith could make her stop," he said, looking a bit down.

"Well, where is she? Seeing me would probably stop her crying," I suggested.

"That it would! Now follow me, Mr. Knight, to Charlie," he said, walking out the door with me by his side.

As we left the room, I noticed Satan's castle seemed to have a lot of skulls mounted to each door and hallway.

I continued to look around and found the windows outside were covered in lava.

"So, I haven't gotten your name yet, Mr. Knight. Care to share?" he said, walking beside me.

"Oh, my name is Stygian… I don't have a last name, though."

"That's fine. As long as you have one, that's all that matters. Stygian… a curious name," he said, looking intrigued about where I got it.

"So, how did you save Charlie? Once I found out that she was kidnapped in Wrath, I searched the entire area where she was kidnapped and even the surrounding castle but found nothing," he asked me.

"Well, your highness—"

"Just call me Lucifer, or Lucy. Whatever works for you," he said with a smile.

"Well, Mr. Lucifer, as we were about to reach Satan's castle, we were chased by a tide of cannibals. Before we could reach the castle, the ground beneath us collapsed, and Charlie and I fell into a cave system where I had to fight a giant dragon to get out."

"Oh, a dragon? Most Goetic demons are too scared to face those guys head-on. It's practically suicide! Tell me, though—did you get a heart by any chance?" he asked.

"Now that you mention it, I did," I said honestly.

"Well, dragon hearts are a really sought-after treasure for most demons. They possess the ability to make the one who eats or absorbs it immune to any form of fire."

"I figured that part when I wasn't affected by lava," I replied.

"And not only that—they have something that only demon nobles possess… immortality. Not in the 'you can never die' thing, but the ageless sort of immortality, like mine," he said with a cheeky smile on his face.

"So… I can't die from old age?"

"Yup! Oh, we're here~" he said, opening a door in front of us.

As it opened, it revealed a really tall, beautiful woman with horns, comforting Charlie on her lap.

"Charlie! Daddy's got a surprise for you!" he said in a sing-song voice.

Charlie looked up and looked at her dad before noticing me beside him.

Her teary face lit up with a giant smile, and she jumped from her mother's lap directly at me.

"Mr. Knight!" she said as she crashed directly into me and locked me in a hug.

"Hey… Charlie. Oh, my back," I said, as her hug was even tighter than the last time she hugged me.
