After an enjoyable and most memorable supper with Mary and Felix, Zayn thanked, well pleased by the meal before excusing himself back into his room, burning with eager excitement and expectation.
He pounced onto his bed wandering momentarily in the beauty of his unexpected favour.
Even though they weren't his biological parents, it was a huge step up compared to his past life where he lived as an orphan.
His gratitude ran unusually deep, fully aware of how powerless people were treated here and having a experienced the first hand cruelty of their fate. Or maybe he was just too trusting of people? Either way, he felt peaceful and that was what he settle for at the moment.
Exiting himself, for the claim of being tired was merely and excuse he made to get off the table.
The real reason having making sure he couldn't be seen or heard, he outwardly muttered.
"Axion, you still there?" His enquiry wrapped with impatient expectation.
He questioned the embedded AI system linked within him, slightly discomfited by the miniscule silence that provoked his avidity.
[Yes Zayn. Is there anything you need help with?]
The satisfying gentle chime of the system launched a bolt of excitement through Zayn's body.
"Nothing much. Can you give me access to my Status panel?"
[Done]
Almost a swift as lightning, the translucent screen which only he could see transitioned right wards, swerving into his Status panel.

[Inventory ¶ 1]
Only throwing a voracious scan over its content, the non-complex nature of the interface was the first thing he easily identified.
It was simple, basic and easily understandable to almost anyone. Its contained fields and tuples appeared characteristic to the properties the system uniquely possessed.
"And I'm guessing that IP stands for Innovation Points", he asked, confirming his accuracy by the calm ring Axion hummed loose. "IP? More like IQ", he quipped.
Looking more closely on each row displayed, he picked up some more interesting questions and realizations.
Lingering over the Magic section, he couldn't get his eyes off what he saw.
That moment, he tried pulling out some sort of magical spark out of him but unfortunately, corrobating the words of Xavier, it just wasn't possible for him.
One of the views he expressed so much gratitude towards in being brought into a reality were magic existed was the hope of actually being able to use magic.
"Guess magic just isn't for me", he consoled, hosting a belittling feeling of disappointment along with the feeling like he had been unfairly cheated out of something amazing.
Moving on, his eyes fell above the lower ends of the screen.
Though just remembering, he already knew what was stashed inside the inventory but the other single thing was what he had no clue of.
Placing his focus over that part of the screen, a short description surfaced, pacifying his curiosity.
[System Skill ¶ 1]
★ Inspect | Level 1
Description: Allows user to analysed and access information from the status of others.
Additional function: User is capable of drawing information of the components of any matter present.
Zayn stared in surprise, buried in the shocking yet very opportunistic words before him.
He had already assumed that he alone had been solely gifted a status hence with such superior knowledge, plus the ability to access others' made avoiding and outwitting foes far more effortless.
As for the other use of the skill, he didn't fully understand the versatility and usefulness of being able to analyze structural components of any kind of matter, especially at this level as that was all it displayed.
In the future levels, maybe its importance could shine brighter when aided with more useful information like functionalities and unique properties.
So, dumping it unappreciated, he tucked it deep under his belt incase he ever found a scenerio it would be considered helpful.
The former excitement suddenly dimmed blank, as he quickly got drenched in boredom just watching the screen but then, another notification dropped in.
[Would you like to view inventions?]
"Inventions?" The system's questioned greatly piqued Zayn's interest.
Back in his old world, he was pretty good with computers and gadgets, how much different could medivial machineries and fore innovations be?
Upon observing how underdeveloped his new phase of existence was, he wasn't determined in his heart to make his life more comfortable with the use of his inventions.
"Yes", he replied, quite unsure of what he might see.
At first he thought that it would cite things like phones and laptops as such were the things termed inventive in his times but as it should, the top list were occupied by rather simpler discoveries, most he never even remarked their use before much less consider it a invention.
Cornered at the edge of each listed invention was an IP price looming heavily beside.
Scrolling through the tabs of numerous potential creations, he pointed out that the lowest IP cost along with all the knowledge on how to create it was nothing less than a hundred IP.
Immersed in avid readiness, he quickly wonders what he could be able to do to gain Innovation Points, reading his thought Axion gave a sharp reply.
[Innovation points can develop by successful completion of Quests and Missions]
[Quest: Make an unique invention]
[Reward: 20 IP]
"Just that", he marvelled at the requirement it proffered.
What was simply said was that, he needed to make an invention to get access to another invention.
And from the reward, it meant a total of five self-generated inventions to access only but one in the system. Continuing in that flow meant he had to come up with more of his and less of the system – a forlorn and unfair cycle.
By now his eyes were sacked in sleepiness and tipping over into the night.
He instructed Axion to wake him up early the next day to get a good start and make most of the day.
