Chapter 13 - What an adorable scream

Lucien frowns. He has the feeling that what he just did is important... but he doesn't know why.

He just gave a name. What was so special about that? Or is Vanessa special because of her blood?

'Damn it! Why can't I come up with an answer?' Now he understands how those protagonists felt when they couldn't find an answer. It's so frustrating!

"Tsk." He clicks his lips in annoyance and stops thinking about the strange sensation, fixing his eyes on Vanessa. "Get up, and we'll tell you your current situation in the living room," he said in a neutral tone.

They leave the basement and arrive in the living room, where the maids are doing their work.

He sat down on the luxurious sofa, and Selene crossed her legs, drawing his attention, which made her smile with satisfaction. Vanessa hesitated about what to do, but he motioned for her to take a seat in front of him.

Venessa nods nervously and takes a seat on the luxurious sofa, her buttocks sinking into the cushion, and with a glance, she signals to Lucien that he can begin.

"Are you aware of your current situation?" Lucien asks.

"Yes..." She lowers her head.

"Well, it's good that you're aware." Lucien crossed his legs with the utmost calm. "I'll give you two options, and you can choose whichever you prefer: one, you become my servant; or two... You die like cattle." He smiled kindly. "Freedom of choice is important, don't you think?"

Of course, he knew she had no choice. But what kind of gentleman would he be if he didn't give her the illusion of democracy?

Vanessa's situation was similar to his, although in his case, he had been lucky with his blood. She, on the other hand, was human and had such a rare blood type that it would make any vampire salivate.

With his senses heightened, he noticed how several vampires in the house were already looking at her as if she were an all-you-can-eat buffet. The aura Vanessa exuded was so appetizing that, if you were to compare it, it would be like having your mother's favorite dish in front of you after a three-day fast.

That's how tempting she looked at that moment.

'That's why I gave her the option of becoming my maid. Besides, I'm a vampire! I can't go around without a personal maid. That would be... anti-historical. Even Dracula had his entourage. I'm not going to be outdone by a 15th-century count.' Lucien reclined on the sofa, looking satisfied and a touch arrogant.

Vanessa looks at him with trembling, conflicted eyes... but in the end: "I accept to become your servant." It wasn't that she wanted to; it's just that dying didn't sound appealing at all. Damn it, she's only twenty years old!

Clap.

"Well, from now on, you're my maid." He clapped his hands with a big smile, showing all his teeth... suddenly, he remembered a VERY important detail: "Vanessa, answer me honestly, your life depends on it." He looked at her seriously, too seriously.

She swallowed hard, her nerves on edge. Selene frowned, intrigued.

He looked her straight in the eye, with absolute solemnity, and asked.

"Are you a virgin?"

Vanessa: "..."

Selene: "..."

The maids in the background: "..."

A heavy silence fell over the place as if some supernatural force had taken away all the noise in the house.

Lucien blinks, confused: "Why are you looking at me like that? It's an important question." It really was very important.

Vanessa's fate depends entirely on it.

"You want to turn her into a vampire, don't you?" Selene looked at him angrily. He didn't even call her "darling." His eyes had lost all life; they looked like two black holes.

He smiles. "That's right, it seems you understand, that's why you asked the question," he turned back to Vanessa, obviously enjoying Selene's jealousy. "Answer me, are you a virgin?"

Vanessa, her face as red as a tomato, with what looked like smoke coming out of her head, as if she were some kind of anime character, hesitates to answer, but knows she has no choice: "Yes, I'm a virgin."

'I wish the ground would swallow me up!' she screamed inside her head, mortified with embarrassment.

"Perfect." He smiled broadly, then looked around and said, "Mayla," he called to the white-haired maid.

"What do you need, Lord Lucien?" Suddenly, a woman's voice was heard beside him; there stood the maid with her neutral expression.

He looked at Mayla suspiciously. "Do you want me to let out some embarrassing scream?" The way it appears out of nowhere is not normal at all.

"..." Mayla watched him silently for a few seconds and then turned her face away with complete serenity. "You're imagining things, Lord Lucien."

"Liar!" he shouted, pointing at her as if she were on trial.

"Tsk."

He opened his eyes in disbelief and looked directly at her. Did he just hear "Tsk"? Is her mask slipping? What a funny maid!

He sighed, returning to the important matter. "Anyway." He pointed at Vanessa, who still looked like a confused human tomato. "I called you so you could turn her into a perfect maid."

Suddenly, she turns around, her neutral expression breaking for the first time, but instantly returning to normal. "As I ordered, Lord Lucien, I turned her into the perfect servant." Her voice was full of conviction.

"Umu, I'll leave it to you." Her green eyes turned blood red, and a bloody pressure came out of her body. "Don't even think about tasting her blood, it's mine," she said coldly, showing all her sharp teeth.

"!!!" Mayla shuddered violently; it was the first time she had ever felt this way... it was a strange and unfamiliar feeling. "I wouldn't dare go against your orders," she said in a neutral voice.

That goes against what it means to be a perfect servant; the master's orders are absolute, unless that option is in the best interests of his master.

Selene watched the entire interaction with an amused smile; Lucien's changes were too spontaneous. 'Is it because he became a vampire, or was he always broken?' This made her excitement grow.

"Okay, you can take her now," he said with a carefree gesture. He noticed Mayla's desire for Vanessa, and he understood her; the scent she gave off was too appetizing.

Mayla and Vanessa left the living room.

Lucien let himself fall onto the sofa, leaning back naturally. With a mischievous smile, he buried his face between Selene's breasts, smelling their sweet, metallic scent. His hands slid under the fabric and grabbed her tits.

Selene let out a soft sigh, and although a faint blush colored her cheeks, she feigned indifference as she played with a strand of her hair. "Are you going to ask me for the requirements to turn her into a vampire?" she asked with apparent serenity, but her voice vibrated with a note of jealousy that did not go unnoticed.

He lifts his face and looks at her beautiful face and says, "It's not time to turn her into a vampire yet." He felt that it wasn't the time for Vanessa to become a vampire; he didn't want to use Selene's method.

Selene raised an eyebrow, amused. "Hmm~ I see." Her lips formed a smile that was half mockery, half desire.

Lucien looked at her and smiled mischievously, rose slightly to her neck, and before she could react, death.

"Ah~!" A soft moan escaped Selene's lips as she felt the bite. Blood flowed, warm and addictive, as her eyes lit up with an intense red. In an almost instinctive reflex, she embraced him and returned the gesture, sinking her own fangs into Lucien's neck.

...

The moon rises high in the starry sky with gray clouds being swept away by the wind.

Kronii arrived at Roxana's mansion, a building so gothic that it seemed to scream, "A vampire lives here!"

"What are you doing here, Kronii?" a female voice suddenly whispered right next to him.

"Kyaaa!" The scream echoed throughout the garden, so high-pitched that it probably scared away the bats three blocks away. She sounded like a shōjo manga protagonist who had just seen a cockroach.

Roxana looked at her with a half smile. "What an adorable scream."

Kronii froze for a few seconds, then pretended to cough dramatically: "Ahem. Lady Roxana, don't scare me like that, you almost gave me a heart attack! And you know how difficult it is to revive it."

"Don't worry," Roxana replied calmly, "you wouldn't die for something so silly."

"That doesn't comfort me..." Kronii muttered, an imaginary bead of sweat sliding down her temple.

Roxana turned around, her cape fluttering with unnecessary flair. "Follow me inside and tell me everything."

Kronii followed her awkwardly, still muttering, "One of these days that scare will kill me... and I'm not going to clean up my own corpse."

When Roxana opened the door, the first thing she saw left her paralyzed with disbelief: the decapitated body of a maid was lying on the sofa.

The room was a mess, as if there had been a fight, and it wasn't just the maid's body that was scattered around.

"What's going on?" She spoke in disbelief, unable to form coherent thoughts at the sight of everything.

She could see the bodies of everyone, servants, vampires, and humans... A massacre had taken place here while she was away.

Roxana didn't have time to think because she felt someone approaching at high speed, covering her body with wind, and dodging the attack.

The attack passed by her, and she could see the mansion's door explode into pieces.

"Huh? The ambush failed, what a shame." A man's voice is heard. When she sees him, she sees that he is a bald man wearing a priest's robe.

"Church dogs!" she growls furiously.

"DAMN YOU!!!!"

BOOOM!!!!
