Chapter 12 - Human with null RH blood

On the 104th floor of a skyscraper, behind a huge window, the city was a mosaic of lights.

A beautiful woman with long dark blue hair and a curvy body that would be the envy of any model slept soundly in a very modern-looking king-size bed, in a comfortable position.

It was as if nothing in the world could interrupt her sleep, but just then they began to touch her.

"Lady Sesha," a woman's voice suddenly rang out in the bedroom.

"Five more minutes, Kronii..." Sesha gave an automatic response, turned over to find a better position, and continued sleeping.

"Lady Sesha said the same thing in the afternoon."

This time, she heard the woman's voice, but she was too lazy to get up. Although for a moment, the woman's voice annoyed her.

Well, she was too lazy to get up, and she knew that the woman would keep calling her until she did. However, she decided to continue sleeping.

"Ugh... Why do I have such a lazy master?" Kronii sighed wearily, approached Sesha, and said, "Sesha, I accidentally deleted all your achievements in Devil May Cry 4."

Sesha suddenly opened her eyes and stared coldly at Kronii, her personal maid.

"Kronii, what did you just say?" Sesha said in a cold tone. She would accept anything: being robbed, being given ugly socks... but having the DMC trophies erased, never!

"There she is," Kronii murmured with relief, triumphant. "She's finally awake, Lady Sesha. What's more, I come bearing news: your friend Lady Selene says everything went well and she didn't have to kill the newborn vampire."

"Ugh~, I'm going to keep sleeping." Sesha closed her eyes again, completely uninterested; she spent the whole day playing Diablo, not the recent one but the first one.

Kronii swallowed hard. She raised her voice: "This isn't about Selene, Lady Sesha. It's about your husband."

"Hmmm~" She moved lazily across the bed, unwilling to get up; her large breasts swayed provocatively.

A vein appeared on Kronii's forehead: "Lady Sesha, if you don't get up now, I'll burn all your retro consoles."

Sesha sat up immediately, with the speed of someone who remembers being promised cake: "How dare you?!" she shouted, throwing herself onto the edge of the bed, somewhere between horrified and furious. "Game consoles are sacred!"

"Then you'll listen to what your friend Selene said."

"Yes, yes, I'll listen to you..." Sesha fixed her hair and said in a cold tone, "But don't ever deceive me again, Kronii."

"Huh? Why?" Kronii pouted. "I have to find a different way to wake her up, Lady Sesha."

"Now, tell me what Selene said."

Soon Kronii begins to tell Sesha about the newly born vampire Lucien Ricci.

...

When Kronii finishes telling Sesha all about Lucien, the dark-haired gamer speaks lazily:

"Hmm~ so my husband turned out to be more special than I expected. I'll have to meet him soon."

Kronii nodded in agreement with Sesha's words: "But Lady Sesha, your husband is a newborn. What if the Inquisition attacks him? They like to kill them."

"Oh, really?" She settled back into bed, took out a Game Boy Advance, and started playing. "About the Inquisition: you don't have to worry."

"Eh? Why not worry? My lady, your husband is a newborn vampire. He can't fight an experienced Inquisition hunter. He'll most likely die at the hands of those crazy fanatics," Kronii explained his reasoning.

Sesha ignored Kronii's reasoning and asked a single question: "Kronii, what are we?"

Kronii's eyes widened for a moment when she understood what Sesha meant.

Sesha looks at her with eyes glowing a blood-red hue. "We are vampires. We are not wolves, nor humans who care for one another. If Lucien dies at the hands of the Inquisition, it means that's all he ever was." His eyes return to the game.

"But he is still your husband."

"Indeed," Sesha said nonchalantly, but she quickly continued with a kind smile. "But I have no intention of becoming a widow before I even meet my husband."

"I know." Kronii smiled. "Lady Sesha, what are you going to do now?" she asked curiously.

"Hmm~ I don't know, but you just gave me an idea." She turned on the bed and looked at the console screen. "Go to Roxana and tell her everything about our husband."

Kronii's expression crumpled with annoyance; she didn't want to work overtime, but her stupid mouth wouldn't stay shut. "As you command, my lady."

"Oh? Right, be very careful, something strange is going on in that area," Secha warned her.

Seeing that Kronii has left, Sesha looks up at the ceiling, then her eyes turn blood red for a moment, and soon return to normal.

"I have to go visit my 'husband' before the bloodlust gets out of control."

...

Selene's house.

When Lucien and Selene arrive, they are greeted by the black-haired maid wearing glasses.

"Welcome, Lady Selene and Lord Lucien." The maid's voice was neutral, as always.

"What's your name?" he asked, not knowing the maid's name, and frowned. Why does she wear glasses? Isn't she a vampire? She shouldn't suffer from nearsightedness or astigmatism.

"This servant's name is Luna." The servant bows slightly and returns to her normal posture. "My Lady, that trash... I mean, Loic has already delivered the human with null RH blood; she is in the basement. And a group of noble vampires has also been seen chasing him."

"Oh, that was pretty quick." Selene didn't seem interested in that human, much less the vampires chasing Loic. "Good job, you can rest for the rest of the day."

"As you ordered," Luna disappeared into the shadows.

"Selene, why are the noble vampires chasing Loic?"

"To kill him, because he broke one of the rules made by the vampire king: rule number 2 of being a vampire: never reveal that you are a vampire unless it is to turn someone else into one or use them as livestock until their death."

"And if you break the rules, you're hunted down and killed. After all, the supernatural world is no picnic."

That rule was basically a warning to warm-blooded vampires: "Don't cause trouble, or we'll kill you."

"I understand... but that Loic doesn't seem to be very well liked by the vampire community." He noticed the contempt and disdain with which the servants and Selene herself referred to him.

Even a fool would notice it; it was so obvious.

"Loic is a bastard who has caused too many problems by breaking several rules, and he also sells humans to bored older vampires," Selene spoke indifferently.

"I see." He didn't ask any more questions. He wasn't very interested in that vampire, who would surely end up dead in some ditch.

They walked through the living room to the basement.

Lucien looked at the human woman in the corner of the room, shivering with cold and fear. His green eyes turned blood red, and his whole world turned red... he instantly noticed something strange: that it was his neck that was glowing, not his heart.

'What does this mean?' He noticed that she was surrounded by a bloody aura... That was even stranger. His eyes turned to Selene, and she had the same mark on her neck. 'What is this? Is that woman a vampire too?' The question marks above his head only increased.

He moved a little closer, tilting his head like a curious cat. "Are you a vampire?" he asked in a neutral tone.

"Hiii!!!" She shuddered when she heard his voice. "No... no... I'm not a vampire." The fear was evident; she even stuttered.

'He's not a vampire...' he thought. His vision returned to normal, and immediately, an intoxicating scent hit him. It wasn't a normal scent; it was sweet, warm, as if the blood itself were calling his name. Instinctively, he swallowed.

"What's your name?" he asked, trying to maintain his composure, even though his fangs threatened to show.

The woman looked at him cautiously. "I don't have a name..." she replied quietly, suspiciously, but without looking away.

"Hmm..." Lucien hummed, as if pondering something. "How about I give you one?" he finally said, with a calm smile.

The human with null RH blood looked at him doubtfully. She didn't sense any danger, but she didn't feel confident either. However, she nodded.

He looked her up and down. She had dark brown hair, long and slightly curly; honey-colored eyes, tired and beautiful; pale skin and a body so well-formed that even when she was trembling, she retained a natural sensuality and D-cup breasts. She was about five feet nine inches tall.

Lucien thought about it for a few seconds and said, "How about... Vanessa?"

"Vanessa..." She blinked and murmured, lost. Her lips curved slightly, and tears began to roll down her cheeks. "Vanessa... that's my name. I have a name..." Her voice broke, but she smiled as if she had just remembered that she existed.

Selene watched the scene with indifference, although deep down a spark of curiosity flashed across her eyes.

Lucien, for his part, felt something strange... a slight, unfamiliar twinge.

'Why do I feel this? I only gave her a name...'
