Night...
The full moon rose high in the starless sky, with black clouds moving slowly.
In the darkness of the night, a man dressed in a suit walked through the lonely streets of New York, which were dimly lit by neon lights.
The person walking through these lonely streets was Lucien, a recent college graduate who worked 12 hours a day for a miserable $ 500-a-month salary. As someone who had just obtained his diploma, he had to accept the unfair contract offered by the company because he lacked the damn "years of experience" they required.
It was either that... or starve to death.
Lucien had no one; his father was a damn alcoholic and drug addict who was behind bars after being caught in a raid, and his mother was in the hospital.
He had to grow up alone, without a family or a social life. To make matters worse, as if that weren't enough misfortune, he suffered from a strange condition: Black Blood...
"And to top it all off, that pig... made me work overtime, knowing that I work 12 damn hours for a measly $500 salary!" Lucien kicked a trash can in anger.
Yes, today his boss made him work overtime with the splendid excuse that he had an "important commitment," which was clearly a lie. That damn pig was going to a hotel with one of his coworkers who thinks she's unattainable, when half her body is made of silicone.
"Sigh... I wish I had socialized more with my classmates, and not looked like a damn emo, isolating myself from everyone." Lucien shook his head with a slight ironic smile, since there's no point crying over spilled milk.
He continued walking toward his small rented apartment measuring 5.1 square meters, lost in his thoughts, occasionally cursing the pig who is his boss.
Until he heard voices nearby, and no, it wasn't his conscience reminding him that he had to pay the rent.
"Are you sure that's the cattle you talk so much about?"
"Yes, can't you smell the rich aroma it gives off?"
"Getting cattle of this quality is almost impossible these days."
Lucien turned quickly, but saw nothing; several question marks appeared above his head.
'Could it be that being exploited at that company is driving me crazy?' He shook his head gently and continued walking.
Just then, he began to feel his vision darken and his strength fade.
'Shit...'
That was his last thought before everything went completely dark.
Soon, four figures appeared beside Lucien's unconscious body.
"Fufufu~ This is unexpected."
"Wow, this is a surprise. I didn't expect it to turn around suddenly."
"It has good senses despite being livestock."
"Take it and let's go before bugs show up and interrupt our dinner."
The four figures nodded, picked up Lucien, and disappeared into the darkness.
...
..
.
In an abandoned building...
One of the four figures throws Lucien's unconscious body to the ground as if it were trash.
A woman with black-and-white hair approaches Lucien's body and smells the back of his neck. "Your scent is truly exquisite," she says with a slight blush on her cheeks.
A pair of fangs appears and sinks into Lucien's collarbone. He shudders, but his eyes do not open; it is as if he has been drugged with etorphine, better known as M-99.
"Ahh~!" The woman with black-and-white hair stops drinking the stagnant blood; her expression is one of pure euphoria; her eyes glow an intense blood red; it is as if she has become intoxicated.
"Why is she acting that way?" another of those present asks, confused... However, as she sniffs the air, her eyes light up and she approaches Lucien's body as if possessed.
The same thing happens with the other two.
Each one bites a part of Lucien's body and begins to drink his blood, as if it were an addictive drug or some heavenly delicacy.
Soon, all four were drinking his blood desperately, as if it were pure drugs.
When they were done, Lucien's body was almost skeletal.
"It's the best thing I've tasted in my 1,500 years."
"What a pity it was only once..."
"Let's go."
But then...
Lucien rose as if defying gravity. His green eyes turned blood red.
In an instant, he embraced one of them and sank his fangs.
"Ahh~!"
He disappeared from the others' sight, moving like a specter.
"Ahh~!"
"Ahh~!"
"Ahh~!"
The four of them fell to their knees, touching their necks, pale and trembling.
"Damn it!" one of them stamped on the ground, which cracked.
"Why did this have to happen?!"
"This is going to be a problem..."
The woman with black and white hair looked at Lucien, who was unconscious.
"What do we do with him?"
"Kill him," one suggested.
"No. That will only make things worse. Take care of him. If he can't control himself... eliminate him."
The other three left, leaving her alone.
The woman with black and white hair clenched her fangs in anger, but her eyes trembled as she looked at Lucien lying on the ground.
"...This shouldn't be possible."
The building fell silent.
The moon, hidden behind clouds, barely illuminated the boy's body.
And so, without knowing it, Lucien had just become the most significant anomaly in the vampire world.
