Chapter 6 - Chapter 6 The Quinns’ Estate

"If you are not lying, then explain why you acted that way last night?"

Snow blinked away the tears from her eyes. "That was because I was trying to get your attention…" She paused. "You have never contacted me since we signed the papers. I thought maybe you had forgotten about me… I couldn't even reach you… Your security won't let me meet you."

Adrian exhaled deeply. "You mean I signed a marriage paper with you, and I didn't meet you again?"

He ran his hand through his hair in frustration. He had never experienced any situation of having dementia. Why couldn't he remember getting married?

Snow walked closer to him. "How can I frame you when you only revealed your face last night? It means we have met before."

Adrian grabbed her by her shoulders, shaking her. "Tell me how we met and how I decided to sign the marriage papers with you." He looked frustrated and curious.

Snow gently nodded her head, "We met a week ago…"

Before she could finish her words, she swayed into his arms, her eyes fluttered weakly. "I'm tired, hubby… Please don't doubt me." She held her hand over his neck, pressing her face against his chest.

Adrian scoffed, his eyes darkened. Then, he tried to pry her hands off him, but she didn't budge. "Get off me."

"Hubby… my legs are jelly. I can't stand on my own." She said breathily. "Help me, hubby." She whispered.

"Get your hands off me…"

Before Adrian could pry Snow's hands away the door burst open, and the reporters flooded in, ignoring Derek, who stood in front of them.

They began taking pictures.

Snow tightened her hands around him and started sobbing.

"Mr. Quinn, is this lady really your wife?" one of the reporters asked.

Adrian sighed in exasperation. If he speaks the truth, they will label him a liar… even though his signature was on the marriage paper.

"Yes, she is my wife." He gritted his teeth.

The reporters began scribbling on their notes, while the others brought their microphones closer.

"Mr. Quinn, why did you claim to be a bachelor when you are married?"

"Mr. Quinn, why did you hide the fact that she is your wife?"

"Mr. Quinn, we heard the Quinn Corporate group is suffering a drop in stock, is that true?"

"Mr. Quinn…"

"Enough!" Adrian snapped at them. "My wife is dizzy and stressed. I need to bring her home." He carried Snow in his arms.

A look of surprise flickered through her eyes. He accepted her as his wife? 'Adrian Quinn really lives up to his name.'

She clung to him, as he carried her out of the room.

The reporters tried to run after them, but were stopped by the security guards.

Derek stood in the room like a statue, he couldn't bring himself to believe that Adrian accepted the cunning lady as his wife.

The workers ran to their seats when they saw Adrian coming, their eyes almost bulging out of their sockets when they saw Snow in his arms.

"Is that really Mr. Quinn, or is he possessed?" one of the female workers whispered.

"Shhh." Her female colleagues hushed her.

Snow's lips tugged into a mischievous smile. "You are caring, hubby." She whispered in his ear.

"Don't push your luck. You have a lot of explaining to do… don't blame me if I punish you." He said with gritted teeth.

"Punishments? Oh, I'll love it when you punish me… are you going to whip my ass, tie me up, or keep me up all night?" She purred.

Adrian clenched his jaw, ignoring her. After a couple of minutes, they arrived at the parking lot.

He opened the back door and tossed Snow inside the back seat like a sack of rice.

"Be careful, hubby…" He slammed the door shut.

Snow pressed her lips into a thin line. She had thought he was only arrogant, she didn't realize how disrespectful he was.

She stared at the back of his neck, his hairline was neatly trimmed. Other women would have killed to be in her shoes right now… but she felt nothing more than hatred and disgust for him.

She had gone this far to be by his side, even lowering her self-dignity. And the bastard dared lay a hand on her?

Her brows furrowed when Adrian started the car engine. "Hubby, where are we going?" She asked sweetly.

He glared at her through the head mirror, before driving out of the parking lot.

"Don't tell me you are already growing impatient to smack me." Her voice was sweet, her it dripped with venom.

"Since you are my wife, of course we are heading home." His words sounded more like a threat.

"Home?" She muttered to herself. She clenched her fist so tightly that her nails dug into her flesh.

'Home.' the words resonated in her head.

Her eyes grew distant as an image of memories of her family falling apart flashed through her head.

That day was the day her family was shattered, she lost her mother to death and her father was locked in prison. And that was all because of one man… Mr. Quinn.

Snow bit her lip to suppress the stinging in her eyes.

Her hands trembled with pain and hatred, she closed her eyes to control her emotions. 'Breathe Snow, you are already a step closer to getting your revenge.'

Her hands unclenched, and a sly smile curled on her lips. "Hubby, I can't wait to see our home."

Adrian ignored her and pressed his foot on the gas. After a few minutes, they arrived at the Quinn family estate.

The car drove past the tall black gates, and Snow leaned her head against the window, watching as the estate slowly came into view. The driveway stretched wide and long, lined with trimmed hedges and a few fountains that sprayed water into the air.

Adrian took a turn, and the mansion came into view, it was enormous. Everything about it screamed luxury but in an elegant way.

The off white colour gave a majestic feeling. One that is only given off by old money.

By the time the car stopped at the front, Snow let out a small breath. Even the stairs leading to the entrance looked spotless, and the huge double doors made her remember her home wasn't far off from this.

Her gaze turned sharp… she knew behind those doors, hell was about to be unleashed. And she would be the one unleashing them.
