When Blaze pushed open the door, he was met with a worrying sight. His sharp eyes narrowed, and he quickly set down his luggage, rushing over.
"Cecilia! Cecilia!"
Her cheeks were flushed unusually red. He didn't know how long she had been leaning against the fridge, her hands icy cold, yet her body burning with heat. Blaze lifted her onto the sofa, calling her name again, but she didn't wake, leaving him anxious.
She leaned against him like a small, fragile kitten, curling herself into a tiny ball. Her pale lips made his heart ache, and he couldn't even bring himself to scold her, fumbling to pour her water and find medicine.
"Mm…"
After a moment, she stirred, letting out a soft whimper. Blaze took the chance to slip the medicine into her mouth and handed her some warm water.
"Cough… cough…" Cecilia, feeling uncomfortable, spat the capsule back into his hand.
Blaze didn't pull away. He circled her waist with strong arms, lifting her into his embrace. "Take it," he said softly.
