The chair beside her was pulled back. Ivanka tilted her head and glanced at Blaze—just as his phone buzzed again. Without a second thought, she grabbed it and tossed it straight into the bubbling pot of cheese fondue.
"You—!" Blaze raised an eyebrow, staring at her in disbelief.
"Let's forget about work for today," Ivanka said without even looking up. She was gracefully twirling the spaghetti on her plate with her fork, elegant as some European aristocrat.
By the time she swallowed her first bite, the phone had already given up under the heat. Calmly, she called the waiter over and ordered a new pot of fondue.
Her actions seemed extreme, but they were very much in character for her. Blaze paused, then said nothing, only taking a sip of red wine.
