Cliff's POV
After I walked away from Amethyst I went to my car to head over to the boat. I had passed that kid Jason and signaled him to go ask Ames out and then waited for his text to let me know they were on their way. I had felt I made a little progress with Amy tonight and hoped that it meant she wouldn't be too angry with our bait and switch and we could actually talk over dinner.
I had just got to the docks when I received a text from Jason.
Kid from HS Jason: hey man, I'm sorry but it looks like tonight isn't going to work out for you.
Me: What do u mean?
Kid from HS Jason: apparently there's a cast party tonight and she said she already told everyone from the play she was going so she turned me down.
I huffed out in annoyance but I knew it was possible she could say no, not really thinking she may have already had plans. I even almost hoped she might say no because she didn't want to go out with the guy but also hoped she would say yes to be polite. We had worked out the scenario if she turned him down because she didn't want to go on a date what he would say to hopefully convince her but nothing was planned if she already had plans. Apparently it's going to be harder than I thought to get her on a date.
Me: What did U say after she said she had plans?
Kid from HS Jason: I just told her I would see her Monday in class, didn't really think I could convince her to drop her plans for me.
Me: Good thinking. Maybe Monday U can try again? Ask her out for the weekend? Same place.
Kid from HS Jason: ok, but if she says no again I won't ask her out a third time. I don't want to seem desperate, especially since I'm not even going out with her and only doing this because I owe you one.
Me: Understood. No matter what we will call it even after U ask her.
Kid from HS Jason: deal!
Hopefully she will agree, I really just want to sit and talk, then ask her to her prom. Here's hoping it will work out for me.
Amethyst's POV
The cast party was amazing! It was held at the leading actress's house and her parents went all out. She was a senior just like me and her parents were huge theater nerds. They even stared in a few broadway productions over the years and loved that their daughter was following in their footsteps. Her parents set up tv shows, movies and play themes in all the decorations, snacks and drink displays and even some games they planned. It was corny but so much fun. We all laughed, played and just had an overall good time. By the time I got home I was exhausted. I went to my room and practically dived into my bed and got comfortable. I had already removed all the stage make up before leaving for the cast party and like many others chose sweats and this year's play t-shirt that everyone involved with the show had so I was comfy and didn't feel the need to get ready for bed. As soon as my head hit the pillow I was out, I woke up the next morning to all my sisters jumping on my bed. The littles tried tickling me awake while Hazel and Jade pepper my face with kisses. I started to giggle then returned the tickles and kisses.
"Good morning you crazy bunch!" I laugh "Why are you all waking me up?"
"Well, you are going viral!" Hazel exclaimed
"What do you mean, I am going viral?"
"The promposal Rhett did is all over the school forums and insta! Like you aren't nation wide viral or anything like that yet but you're definitely local viral." Jade explained
"Ugh! I'm gonna kill him!" I groaned, "He definitely did that so I would have no choice but to say yes," I rolled my eyes, "it was sweet but unnecessary, hopefully everything will blow over soon. At least I don't have plans today!"
All the girls chuckled, "Actually, we were all hoping to have a sister's day, PLEASE!!" They all gave pouts as Hazel explained the real reason they came to wake me up.
"Uggg! Fine, but if I get bombarded by people we are cutting the day short and I am bumming it on the couch. Understand?"
"UNDERSTOOD!" They all exclaimed at once then ran off to get ready. I chuckled to myself and got up to get ready myself. Today was going to be a long day.
