Leo was done with his game an hour ago, Ryan offered to drop him off but he declined claiming he didn't want to be a bother. But truthfully he dreaded going home. No actually he dreaded speaking to his mom, she had been nagging him about taking over the real estate he's late father left to him. He was already a settled man, the owner of Shopixir, the 3 leading e-commerce platform in the world, he was a multi billionaire at the young age of 30, so he wasn't after the money from the real estate,his only issue was that his mom thought it proper to take over the real estate else her wicked inlaws wouldn't hesitate,the only reason they had left it for that long was because she had an heir.
She had also been scared because the rate of embezzlement had increased and the workers and lawyers could no longer be trusted.
He remembered their argument earlier that morning
His mother, dressed in a cozy sweater and slippers, sat across from her son in the opulent living room of his mansion. She had a concerned look on her face as she spoke.
"Leo it's been months since your father passed away, and you still haven't taken over the real estate he left you. That property has been in our family for generations, and I know how much your dad wanted you to have it. What's holding you back?"
Leo, sipping his coffee, leaned back in his chair. "Mom, I've been busy with my business. I don't have the time to manage a property like that."
His mother wouldn't let up. "Busy? You're always busy, Leo. Your father would want you to prioritize this. It's not just about the money; it's about family legacy. You need to take care of it."
Leo sighed, knowing his mother's persistence. "But mom you make it sound easy, the terms for the inheritance are simply impossible."
" If he wanted me to prioritize it he shouldn't have made silly terms like I am a teenager who needs a dog leash "
" Do not call my husbands decisions silly." she said angrily.
" He did the best thing for you."
" I am not ready to get married yet, And not just married, he stated for 400 days, I mean who does that."
" My husband."
" Mom, marriage is not a joke."
" Like your life right now "
" Mom...."
" Look at you, you're 31 in a few months and you don't even have one serious relationship, one that's not a fling or something."
" I'm going to say it once and only once, You get married in 2 weeks or I'll disown you, however you want to do your magic."
" Mom....."
" Ryan's car is outside," she said with a note of finality.
Leo finally dragged himself home, after all it can't be worse than it already is.
On getting home his mom knocked on his room door to call him down for dinner she prepare herself
Leo was confused but he went down anyways
" Are you planning to poison me to obedience?" he asked jokingly.
" No, I wanted to try this reverse psychology stuff, but I figured it won't work on you so I decided to enjoy my last days as your mother if I can." she said good naturedly
" You didn't have to spoil the meal mom."
" Apologies darling."
After dinner she handed him a document.
" Incase you change your mind darling, but if you don't I won't change mine either "
