Mira woke up early, still feeling the sting of Leo's words. She reluctantly got dressed in the maid's uniform Mrs. Jenkins had provided. As she made her way to the kitchen, she couldn't help but feel a sense of resentment. Why was she, a captive, being forced to work as a maid?
Mrs. Jenkins, the housekeeper, greeted her warmly. "Good morning, dear. I'll show you the ropes. You'll be helping me with the household chores."
Mira nodded, trying to hide her disdain. As she worked, she couldn't help but notice the intricate details of the mansion. She wondered what secrets it held, and what lay beyond the grand facade.
Leo appeared, observing her from afar. Mira felt his gaze, but refused to meet his eyes. She was determined to keep her distance, despite the strange sense of familiarity that seemed to grow between them.
As the day progressed, Mira found herself struggling to keep up with the demands of her new role. But she refused to give in, determined to prove to herself and Leo that she wouldn't be broken.
As the sun began to set, Mira returned to her room, exhausted. She collapsed onto the bed, feeling a mix of emotions. Despite the hardships, she had found moments of peace in the quiet routine of her duties.
Just as she drifted off to sleep, she heard a knock on the door. "Yes?" she called out, wondering who it could be.
The door creaked open, and Alexandra slipped in. "Hey, treating you well, I see," she said with a sly smile.
Mira's eyes narrowed. "What do you want, and who are you?"
Alexandra chuckled. "Just checking in. You're quite the topic of conversation around here..."
