Penny's POV
Savannah's smile looks carved out of glass, sharp and fragile all at once.
"We should talk. Woman to woman," she says softly, like we're girlfriends about to gossip.
My instinct is to slam the door in her face. But instead, I steady my breath and lean against the frame. "Talking isn't your problem, Savannah. It's listening."
Her brows lift, the faintest flicker of surprise.
I keep my voice calm. "Whatever you're trying to stir between Andrew and me, it won't work. You had your time with him. You enjoyed your time with him, and It's over. I'm here now. He chose me."
For once, she doesn't have a snappy comeback. Just a long, measuring look before she smirks faintly. "You think you will be able keep him when you go to New York?"
"That's not your business." I snap. "Whatever Andrew chooses to do isn't your business anymore. That's between us."
Amused, she smirks. "We'll see."
