Penny's POV
The second Andrew's eyes meet mine, I know the fellowship email isn't a secret anymore.
He hugs me, but it's feels stiff. His lips brush my temple, but I feel no warmth from him. My stomach sinks.
"Hey," I whisper.
"Hey," he echoes, voice clipped.
The air between us is loaded, thick, and Nick, bless his clueless soul, wanders in right then with a bag of chips.
"Dinner in ten," he announces, crunching loudly. "Dad's bragging about his grill skills again, so brace yourselves."
Andrew doesn't laugh. He doesn't even smile. He just nod, and Nick's grin falters when he glances between us.
Oh no. Nick already told him.
I shoot Nick a look sharp enough to cut glass. He shrugs, mouth full of chips, like Sorry, I slipped.
Andrew doesn't say a word. He just takes my hand, firm, and tugs me upstairs.

Her room feels too small, too sweet, too her.
And I'm too full of fire.
