Penny's POV
Morning comes faster than usual. The email still burns behind my eyelids even after I drop my phone. About that fellowship…
I don't even read the body of the email. My chest is already a mess of too many emotions: New York in seven days, now this, and Andrew breathing steady on the bed like he knows nothing's changed.
I put on a smile as I cross to him, curling against his side. "Hungry?"
His arm curves around me. "Always. But your dad scares me when he's guarding the grill like it's Fort Knox."
I laugh, grateful for the distraction. "Come on. If we don't show up for breakfast soon, Mom will send Nick to drag us out."
Andrew groans. "Threatening. As always."
But he gets up anyway, and together we head downstairs.
