Groan.
Oh boy.
My head snapped over to behind me, sighting a zombie. I tried scooting away, but only caused more ruckus . . .
I bumped into a shopping cart, making the cart move itself away, bumping into a nearby aisle.
"Oh shoot.." I cursed under my breath. The zombie's attention was averted immediately to the sound. I stayed as still as possible, trying not to attract any more attention to myself than I already have.
"Freaking hell!! which aisle is it??" I heard an all too familiar voice. Christian.
the zombie, immediately attracted to his voice, started walking in that direction. Once it seemed out of sight, I tried to stand up, trying my best to balance on my left foot more than my right foot. I tried to take a step, surprisingly stable, I was able to take a few more steps, stopping at the corner of where the aisle ended.
"Christian..! over here!" I tried to whisper-yell to him, after peeking and seeing him right around the corner, Ruby and Nicole behind him.
They saw me. Immediately, they ran over, trying not to make too much noise.
"you alright?" Nicole rushed over to my side, looking me over, concerned.
"What does it look like, idiot?" I answered. I tried to take a step forward, for a split second forgetting about my leg. Thankfully, Nicole caught me. He looked so concerned, a look I hadn't seen in a long damn time.
"You can't walk like this. I'll carry you." Nicole suggested . .no, it was more like he stated. Naturally, I didn't object. If I were to try to walk, I'd just be digging my own grave, anyway. Ruby walked over and helped me on Nicole's back. After I got comfortable, I glanced at Christian.
"What's up with your arm?" I questioned him, looking at his cloth covered arm, and soaked in blood.
"There's. . . a lot you need to catch up on."
"Oh. by the way, how long was I out for?"
"Around. . half a day or so."
my eyes widened. half a day?!
"What the heck?! half a freakin' day??"
Nicole nodded. He started to walk, Ruby leading the way through the store, walking as if she knew every death spot. Christian glanced back at us, his gaze meeting mine for a second.
". . .what is this place? And why the hell are these zombies so weird?" I asked Nicole. He seemed to sigh softly under his breath, as if it was like trying to explain some complex plan. . which, I wouldn't know even if he was. But, being unconscious for half a damn day? New record, even for me. I tried to look around, and. . something actually caught my eye. An old playground. Sure, now it was covered in blood, but I recognized the swings and the oddly coloured monkey bars. We were near my house. . . and Christians. Long story short, Christian was my neighbour.
"You noticed, huh?" Nicole commented.
"Yeah, obviously. Zombies are usually dumb and reckless." I sighed, leaning forward and placing my chin on his shoulder.
I felt. . oddly tired. After being unconscious for half a day? Now I really wonder if I got drugged. Maybe poisoned?
"Also.. where are Axelle and Waylen?" I asked Nicole. He sighed.
"Like I said, you have a lot to catch up on."
I had many, many questions. But, I suppose those would have to wait. We managed to exit the store, and I was dang right. We were, indeed, at Christians and my house. As a matter of fact, we were heading straight that way.
I looked around as we crossed the road, seeing. . honestly more zombies than I'd like to see. But, as if my opinion matters to the brainless creatures. We continued in that direction, though I'm not sure if we were going to my house, or Christians. As we got closer, I realized we were entering Christians house. . oh brother. Nicole carried me inside the house as Christian opened the door.
I looked around, it was a pretty normal house- i mean, i'm not sure what i was expecting, really. Christian led us through the hallway, into a room which had a sign that read; "do not enter.", and, i'm just going to assume it's Christians room. We entered, then my eyes fell on the familiar two figures who were. . Arguing. Welp, what can I say? Not like I'm anyone to interrupt.
"Well not like you can even run 100 meters without becoming a panting mess." Waylen scowled.
"Oh so now I can't breathe after running? Should've pushed me into a horde of zombies already. Just say you want me gone." Axelle raised her voice, crossing her arms over her chest.
"That's not the point. . . and i'd gladly push you into a horde of zombies. No questions asked."
"Oh, really, now? Bet you'd be a crying mess without me. I can totally see that happening."
"Pfft, as if. I'd be laughing, not crying."
"Yeah? Why don't we test that theory?"
"Gladly." Waylen and Axelle were now face to face, like they'd slit each other's throat if it weren't for the chaos happening outside.
"GUYS!" Ruby yelled, finally making their heads snap in our direction. Axelle and Waylen just stood there, their heads turned towards us. Axelle's eyes slowly softened seeing me on Nicole's back. Slowly, Nicole walked up to. . im guessing Christians bed, and placed me down gently. I sat at the edge, leaning against the bed frame, one leg hanging off the bed, the other, Aka the injured leg on the bed, laying out there, the blood soaked cloth around it slowly seeping onto the bed sheet.
"Perry?! Are you okay?!" Axelle looked slightly distressed at the sight of my profusely bleeding leg.
"Well. . not really. My leg hurts like hell." I replied. I glanced at Christian, who was rummaging through some stuff, and after he turned back around, he walked up to me, and threw a kit of whatever seemed like medical supplies onto my lap. I grunted a bit, as that kit wasn't light.
"What am I supposed to do with this? I can't bandage up anything myself." I huffed.
"May i?" Nicole interrupted before Christian could reply to me.
I nodded, as he sat on the edge of the bed next to my injured leg, opening up the kit.
"Bet you have a lot of questions, huh?" Axelle guessed, and correctly at that.
"Yep. . a lot." I replied, thinking of one of the decent questions I had in mind to ask.
"Why the hell do the zombies in this area seem so. . smart?"
