The morning sun had risen, signaling the start of a new day full of surprises. The group woke up to the sound of birds chirping and sunlight filtering through the leaves.
"Good morning, lovebirds!" Emma called out cheerfully, grinning at Jacob and Camila.
Camila giggled shyly. "Thanks, Emma... but did you really have to wake us up with that loud voice?"
"Of course! We've got a long day ahead and need to start it with some energy!" Emma replied playfully.
After a quick breakfast at the campsite, the friends began packing up their things and heading back to the city. The ride was filled with laughter and chatter, with Jacob excitedly talking about his future plans with Camila.
Once Emma and Jacob arrived home, Jacob and Camila went into the living room, where his parents were sitting.
"What's this unexpected visit about?" his mother asked, raising an eyebrow.
"We have something we'd like to share," Jacob said seriously, glancing at Camila and gently taking her hand.
His parents exchanged a quick look before Jacob continued, "Mom, Dad... I've fallen in love with Camila, and I've asked her to marry me."
There was a brief silence before Isabel smiled warmly. "That's wonderful news, sweetheart. You've always wanted someone who completes you—and it seems Camila is that someone."
"Welcome to the family, Camila," Edward said with a kind smile.
Meanwhile, Emma stood quietly in the corner, struggling to hide her emotions. She hesitated to bring up her own relationship with Victor, not wanting to overshadow Jacob's moment.
"Is there something you want to say, Emma?" Isabel asked gently, noticing her unease.
"No, nothing, Mom... I'm just happy for Jacob," Emma replied softly.
As the conversation came to a close, the family began planning the next step: a formal visit to Camila's family to ask for her hand.
"Tomorrow we'll visit Camila's family," Edward said enthusiastically.
"And we'll be ready to welcome you!" Camila replied with a bright smile.
