Chapter 12 - Unedited

Liam placed around, staring at his phone from time to time.

Thick clouds covered the sky stretched out into infinity. He kicked a stone into the lake.

There are poles of street light lined by the lake, lightening the entire place.

A low rumble echoed in the distance as Liam took another look at his wristwatch. It has been over thirty minutes since he texted Aurora and she has not replied now taken his calls.

Jenny has messaged him a while ago, asking if he has seen Aurora yet.

Not only was aurora ignoring him, she was also ignoring Jenny. What the fuck was wrong with her?

What the hell is keeping her back. "Aurora where are you?" He whispered underneath his breath agitated.

He made a resolve to scold her when he saw her. Not in the way he promised Jenny. He has to make her understand that as her fiance, he shouldn't be subjected to such treatment.

The breeze turned cold, foowed by drizzling.. Liam cursed under his breath and turned back, he had wandered far away from his car.

He ran through the now wet grass lawn, hurting back to his car as the rain turned heavier. By the time he got to his car, he was drenched, his shirt stitch to his chest.

He yanked his door handle and pulled it then entered the car. He sat behind the steering wheel and brought out his phone.

Water dripped from his hand as he dialed her number. She better take his call this time if she wanted to remain in his life.

Aurora has never been to Stainless Restaurant. Theat thirty minutes here has proven why this restaurant was worth every hype it got.

She brought her glass of wine to her lips. Warm light shone down on them. Although they were away from others, seating close to the window the sound of cutlery mixed with the chatter from the closest table.

Slade leaned into his chair opposite her typing away in his phone. Their dinner has been quiet, both barely spoke a word to each other, consumed by their thoughts.

Aurora's phone on the table began to ring. She picked it and took a quick look on the screen. a frown settled on her face when she saw the id caller.

Liam can't take a hint. She contemplated taking his call so ce he was being persistent.

After much hesitation, she decided to take the call. She placed it on speaker and settled it back on the table.

"Aurora, where the hell are you?" Liam's angry voice rang out and tbis finally caught Slades attention. "Ive been waiting for you for over an hour waiting while you take your sweet time getting here. I even got drenched by rain."

A smile crept into Aurora's cheek at the thought of Liam waiting for her under the rain.

"And why the fuck have you been ignoring my texts and calls?"

In her past life, she was the one always doing the waiting. Liam was never punctual. Now, the table has turned around and he was the one doing the waiting.

"Why the fuck are you silent? Do you think this is funny."

"I don't think so, I just don't think I'll be able to come. You didn't ask me if I'd come before you went to wait," Aurora's voice was calm.

"What?"

"I'm actually busy. I can't leave where I am."

"You are what?' Liam said through gritted teeth. On his end, his hand was trembling from anger.

"Bu-"

"Shut the hell up and get your stupid ass right her rig-" Slade reached over and calmly ended the call.

Beep!

Aurora was finally spared of Liam's annoying voice. But she didn't understand Slade.

Aurora was stunned. Slade gazed sharpened.

"No one speaks to my wife in such manner." He spoke in a firm voice.

Aurora felt her heart fluttered. He sounded so much like a possessive and protective husband from those Webnovel she read on her free time.

It finally felt as though someone was by her side.

"This won't seat well with liam." He was still her fiance.

"I don't care how he spoke to you before, but you are married now, and no matter what reason made us jump into this, I will not have anyone speak down on you."

Aurora just stared at him, ignoring her phone which was ringing again.

The phone stopped ringing, "you shouldn't allow him speak to you in such manner anymore."

Before Aurora could respond, her phone beeped. A message from Liam.

Liam: What the hell was that Aurora, how dare you ignore me?

Another followed immediately.

Liam: where are you?

"What is he saying?" Liam asked.

"He wants to know where I am." Said aurora.

"Then tell him." Slade suggested.

She nodded and started typ

ing, "At Stainless Restaurant."

Liam: I'll be there in a while. This better not be a joke.
