Seat!" Aurora said through gritted teeth, "you are causing a scene." Liam followed his eyes to see most people now staring at him.
His face reddened in embarrassment, he had an image to protect, this wasn't how he'd like to portray himself.
Quickly, he pulled out a chair opposite Aurora as sat on it. For a while he was too embarrassed to lift his head.
Even if Aurora was here, he shouldn't have lashed at her. While trying to embarrass her, he ended up embarrassing himself.
"So, why did you want to see me?" Aurora asked, leaning into her chair. Why would she ask that? Liam was about to reply but paused when a waiter stopped in front of their table.
She settled a bottle of wine and two glasses on the table and left after filling their cups.
"I never got an apology or an explanation," Liam began, images of him on the floor after Aurora slapped and pushed him resurfaced in his head. "What is wrong with you? Why would you do that?"
Aurora studied her neatly manicured nails, "I was stressed." Her voice was low and calm.
"And embarrassing me made you better?" Liam raised a brow, his throat tightening from anger.
"That's not what I mean. I just," aurora paused and drew in a deep breath and lowered her gaze to look remorseful, "While waiting and I fell asleep. I had a really bad dream, in my dream, you hooked up with someone else." She lifted her eyes to meet his.
Liam adjusted uncomfortably on his seat avoiding her eyes. "When I woke up, I just felt so much anger build within me and for a moment, I forgot it was a dream."
Liam wiped his suddenly sweaty palm on his trousers before grabbing a glass of wine and raising it to his lips. He gulped quickly and wiped his lips with the back of his hand.
Did Aurora catch on? When his eyes met her questioning ones, he felt his heart beat faster. Aurora shouldn't know about his relationship with Jenny yet.
Aurora tilted her head to the side, "but I know you won't do that, right?"
"Of course not." Liam said, he scoffed, "why would you even think that. It was just a silly dream. Don't take it seriously."
Aurora nodded and reached for her glass, "I know you won't do that." She raised the drink to her lips and took a slow sip while pinning her eyes on Liam who was now staring at the his phone.
The glass clinked softly with the table when aurura settled it on it. The closest table was served, the smell of fried chicken tingled her nose.
"Is that why you didn't take my calls or attend the party we arranged? The guest left shortly after they arrived because there was no one to welcome them." Liam quickly changed the conversation.
"You were also not at your house, where did you go?"
"That dream ruined my entire night, I probably went for a walk when you came by." Aurora said, dragging her finger over the rim of the glass.
Liam bite the inside of his mouth before assuring her he would never cheat on her. "If you question my loyalty after a dream, how am I sure this will work?"
"If you can't even trust me then you don't love me. I will never cheat on you, I love you with my entire being."
Aurora felt one side of her lips pulling upwards. Was she always blind to this side of him?
Men will always be liars. How did she ever trust him?
"I do trust you." Aurora said, "stress from work may be affecting me."
"About that, how's jenny's book coming along? The prelaunch day is fast approaching."
"I'll ask her about it when I see her."
"When you see her? I thought you were working on the book."
"Not anymore, I have enough on my plate for now," Aurora replied. In the past she has been stupid enough to help with Jenny's book, only to be paid by betray, she would not be repeating that.
"You can't do that, you no Jenny is sick, she can't possibly pull this. Plus you are here editor." why was Aurura suddenly difficult?
"Editor, not the writer." She sipped slowly from her glass. Her head was beginning to ache. All she wanted to do was get done with this conversation.
"Jenny is my friend and I know what she can do. I believe she can pull this off." She glanced at her watch, "it's late, we should get going."
"No, you don't know her. Did you even visit her in the hospital?" He pressed his lips, "she has been waiting for you all day."
"You seem to know her more than me. Did you stay all day with her at the hospital?"
"You should be grateful I care about your friend. Since you were absent I have to take your place. Besides, she is the most important writer in our press. You know that."
"Greatful?"
"Yes. Not trying to argue with me on everything."
Aurora stood grabbing her purse. She was done with this, "Where are you going?" Liam narrowed his eyes as he stared at her.
"Home, I have a really long day today." She was done having this conversation with him. Having him come here was a waste of time. She should have ignored him.
"I am still speaking Aurora, seat."
"Since you care so much about her, why not write it yourself, you are the CEO." She started to walk away from him.
Liam grabbed her hand quickly, stopping her from leaving. "Do not walk away from me Aurora, I'm still speaking." he yelled gaining the attention of everyone in the restaurant.
"Let go of me." Aurora struggled as Liam's fingers digged into her skin.
"I said seat." Liam repeated pulling her back to their earlier seat.
"I don't want to." Aurora stood her ground. Liam gritted his teeth, pulling harder.
Suddenly, a palm wrapped around his, and pulled his off Aurora. Liam had not expected this and ended up falling forward.
He stabled himself, avoiding the fall. He grind his teeth together and turned to face the intruder.
"Who the fuck are you to butt?"
