A man in black suit stood in front of him, "are you hurt in any way ma'am?" He asked politely, both hands placed on each other in front of him.
Aurora shook her head, knowing fully well that Slade must have sent him. He turned to Liam who was breathing heavily, "I'm Mr. Lucian. The manager," his voice remained calm.
"And is this how you treat your customers?" He asked, raising a brow.
"Yes, when our customers keep trying to cause a scene, we'd have to choice but to remove them from the restaurant. To keep the peace here." Liam raised his brow, "Miss Aurora over here is a VIP customer,"
"She is my fiance."
"That only matters outside here. When she is here she is a customer and it's the duty of the restaurant to protect her." Two burly men walked up to them, dressed in black suits. "And we'll do that by removing you, you are no longer allowed here." He turned to the men and they moved forward, grabbing Liam by his arm and pulling him away.
He wiggled from their hold and tried to call Aurora, but Aurora threw her head to the side ignoring him.
"You sent the manager, right?" The car drove past a slowly moving truck. Slade and Aurora are seated in the back while Nicholas sits behind the steering wheel.
"Yes." He paused and then added, "I had to do something."
"Thank you." Aurora said. This may be the first day in the marriage, and it felt like the longest day she has had in weeks.
Liam had left by the time she stepped out. She knew he wasn't just going to let this go easily.
Aurora rested her head on the headrest and closed her eyes. Her entire body felt sore. She wanted to sleep.
Immediately she got home and laid on the bed, she fell asleep. Staying at the edge of the bed all through.
The next morning, when she woke up, Slade had already left. Rays of sun streamed in from the window. It was past 7 am in the morning.
It took two hours for her to dress and drive to work. Now seated behind her laptop, Aurora scrolled down the manuscript she was working on. Although she has decided not to write Jenny's book anymore, it didn't stop the fact that she was her editor and had to do some jobs for her.
There was a knock on the door, "Miss Aurora, the meeting is in ten minutes."
After the meeting, Aurora continued her earlier editing when another knock came on the door. A few seconds passed before she invited the person in.
"Miss Aurora, this came for you." Anita, her assistant, walked in with a bouquet of flowers, "Mr. Adams must be trying to make up for yesterday." She clicked her teeth and handed it over to Aurora.
Aurora smiled knowing this wasn't from Liam, not after what happened last night. It came as a surprise he hasn't barged into his office yet.
After Anita left, Aurora studied the bouquet, there was an accompanying note, would Slade have sent this to her?
Her phone on the table beeped, she picked it to see a message from the same unknown number as yesterday.
"I sent you a gift, did you like it? Once again, congratulations on your wedding." Aurora furrowed her eyes. She picked the note and opened it to see the same message.
"Aurora!" A yell followed by a heavy knock resounded on the door. It pushed open to reveal an angry Liam. She froze, still holding the note.
