Max found three items in the treasure chest, A windproof and waterproof lighter, an oval shaped curry bowl, A raincoat made up of plastic covers.
"Oh wow, I was just searching for Firestarter's and cooking utensils in the trade market, now I have directly obtained these items from the treasure chest he has just opened." max thought to himself.
Max quickly transferred the item into the system inventory and dragged the now empty treasure chest to one side and started observing it from top to bottom.
He didn't observe previously but now he observed the entire box although looked like a rusted iron box, but it has airtight preservation of items and now he found that another use to the box, which is to use it as a fireplace.
As soon as Max decided to use it as a fireplace, he took out wood blocks from his inventory, lit one end with a lighter, and tossed the burning wood into the iron box that served as the fireplace.
Soon he has decent bone fire which can provide him with light as it will soon dark and protect him from night cold wind while providing warmth.
Max observed that he doesn't need to add any wood for at least 3 to 4 hours as the wood in the box is enough to burn until its complete dark.
He can add a bit more wood before going to sleep to maintain the surrounding temperature and avoid feeling cold. Then, he can sleep next to the box, tightly wrapped in the cotton sheets he had exchanged earlier.
Next Max paddled the raft in search of resources and only stopped when the sun has set and became complete dark.
Max first inspected all the items on his raft, carefully relocating the boxes from the edges to a safer spot. He then built a small wall with these boxes to shield the fire in the iron box from the gusting winds.
Then, Max took the kitchen utensil from the inventory and placed it on the fire, using two pieces of wood to support it on the iron box. Max added more fuel to intensify the flames.
A bottle of water was poured into the utensil and brought to a boil. As bubbles started to form, Max added the noodle spices to the water, stirring until they were well mixed. Then, he placed a strip of noodles into the boiling water and continued stirring until the noodles softened and became fragrant and perfectly cooked.
As the noodles got cooked, Max took some bread from the storage space to dip with the noodle soup.
Soon, he had a stomach full of food, leaving him extremely satisfied. After becoming wealthy in this life, he had given up eating packaged instant noodles, but now, tasting them after such a long time, they felt truly delicious.
Then Max opened the regional chat channel and began browsing the chat and saw many people were arguing about some guy who is selling a fire stick for 10 wood logs in the trade section.
Max in disbelief immediately opened the trade market and really saw the fire stick which can only burn for about a minute or two for a grand price of ten wooden logs.
And there are many who buy them begrudgingly, then start scolding him because he has implemented a system condition prohibiting the resale of items purchased from the shop for a higher profit, a rule the system ensures is strictly enforced.
This will restrict the customer to light the fire on his raft and sell other lit firewood to others in the trade section.
Max quickly checked his shop function and realized he didn't have those features, leaving him curious about how the other party got them. He exited the trade section and returned to the chat section, where he scrolled through previous messages. There, he saw the shop owner proudly announcing that he had obtained a permission card from the treasure chest and had begun advertising his goods in the chat.
Max felt the person selling fire for 10 wooden planks is too damn costly, so he decided to enter the fray.
Immediately upon deciding max took few woods log and spilt them into regular size and made into hundred small planks which can be lit and sold in his shop.
Quietly, he placed the fire-lit wood in his shop section without any promotion, priced at one wooden log. Then, he left the trade section and started watching the chat area, waiting for the drama to unfold.
Max felt confident that people would notice the new items in his shop since the system will send notifications to customers who opted in for updates. This ensured they wouldn't miss out when he placed the items in the trade section.
Sure enough, many noticed his items and silently redeemed them and then they started selling them in their shop.
Some began selling them at a higher price, but a few started offering them for just one wooden log, as he had done. This caused the chat to explode with gratitude, and many began purchasing from them. Meanwhile, those who were selling at higher prices turned away in shame after seeing others criticize them.
Soon, everyone began regulating the price to just one log per fire, and most people in the region were able to access the fire, which helped reduce their suffering from the cold night winds.
While everyone appreciated the first person who sold fire affordably for their benefit, the one who originally sold it at a high price is now angrily criticizing others in the chat for lacking business skills.
Others who had taken the same path as that person joined forces to condemn the one who sold the matches cheaply, making the chat lively as two factions formed and began arguing, much to Max's entertainment.
While watching the lively chat Max soon found himself sleepy, so he covered tightly himself with the sheets he has with him and drifted into the deep sleep.
While Max slept soundly, many others were just starting to chat in the channel, arguing late into the night. No one was in the mood to sleep, as they felt the need to release all the negative feelings from their minds.
